I have a problem connecting the Yamaha PianoCraft MCR - 840 to the Sony bravia 26EX320
I mean connecting the sound from the TV to the Yamaha tower.
I was able to connect with the Yamaha DVD and it plays video and sound.
I tried optical, HDMI and czincze connections. All for nothing. Should I connect something additional, a converter?
Or maybe I am making a mistake in the TV settings, even though I have tried everything already, I am an amateur without much technical knowledge.
    Please give me a hint.
    greetings

    Two solutions are possible:

    1 - economical - minijack cable -> 2xCINCH -
-> connections - headphone output (TV) to Audio IN or AUX (Yamaha)
With this connection, the sound level can be adjusted with both the TV and Yamaha remote control.
Which can lead to some "mess"

    2 - DAT converter, eg FIIO3 - optical cable and 2xCINCH
-> connections - optical output (TV) to the converter (input)
CINCH converter output to Audio or AUX input (Yamaha)

Sound adjustment with Yamaha remote only.
You will need to activate the optical output in your TV settings.

Thank you very much for the hint.
Before the appropriate purchase, I would like to ask which connection is better in terms of audio signal quality. Or is it a matter of individual receipt and I have to check it myself?

Qualitatively, the sound will be better when using a DAC converter, i.e. option # 2.

Finally, I bought a DAC called HDA-212 and after connecting it to the TV with an optical cable and two phono cables with the audio system, I got the audio output from the TV to the Yamaha system.
The sound is of good quality. It is a pity that I did not have the opportunity to learn more about other similar converters and thus make more choices.
    Thank you and best regards
