    Hey
I have a quick question for you
I want to buy a home theater that has HDMI OUT. I would like to connect them as follows:
1 TV with HDMI IN without ARC (TV unfortunately has no optics) with HDMI OUT Home Theater
2 Cable box with home cinema using optics.
3 Cable decoder with TV via HDMI
The question is, if I watch home cinema movies with a built-in blue ray player, will I have 5.1 cinema sound?
The sound will be 5.1 both watching cable and home cinema movies
    greetings

    Of course.

Basically yes. In the case of cable TV, the sound depends on the content broadcast, i.e. audio. Keep this in mind.
From what I read, the vast majority of broadcast channels do not have 5.1 sound.

    Here, I would like to draw attention to one aspect that a colleague must take into account;

3 Cable decoder with TV via HDMI

In the case of such a connection, one may expect the phenomenon of a lack of synchronization of sound and image.
Let's hope that this effect will not occur in this case.

A friend is sure that the TV has no digital audio output?
    Please enter some TV model.

Hi thanks for the quick reply. It's good that I asked you yesterday the seller of RTV Euro AGD said that the samsung cinema with only hdmi out and the Hdmi in TV will not have the voice from all speakers (that they should be connected with an optician). I was advised to buy a more expensive cinema with several HDMI out

I reviewed the specifications of this TV and there is actually no digital output.

Only the optical connection between the decoder and the cinema remains.
Please remember to change the settings in the cinema - audio output.
The sound must be directed to the optical output, also called S / PDIF.

    Hey
I also received support from Samsung regarding my doubts "
Sir, (1) without ARC support for both devices, audio transmission via HDMI cable will not be possible. (2) You will pass the sound from the set-top box to the cinema via an optical cable. (3) Via HDMI a TV decoder - you will transmit the image on TV "
If the TV does not have ARC, you will not be able to output sound via HDMI.
If the TV does not have an optical connector and does not support the ARC function via HDMI - you will not transfer sound to the cinema in any way "
That's how I wrote back the service from Samsung.
If I understand correctly, there is no chance that he would have a sound watching blue ray from the cinema?
Did I misunderstand what the website wrote?
Should I understand it that way. With such a connection
Tv HDMI IN without ARC with KD HDMI OUT. When playing a movie with blue ray from the cinema, it obtains sound from the cinema and the picture on TV.
I would like to sum it all up and thank you very much for your help

    Hyh, I'll say it again.
When playing a disc in a cinema, a friend will receive the sound that the given disc provides.
The TV has nothing to do with it, in this case it is a monitor that plays only the video signal from the HDMI OUT jack of the cinema.

The TV does not support ARC and there is no digital audio output - this prevents the TV from sending audio to the cinema.
It would be a problem if a colleague would use e.g. USB pen drive or built-in TV decoder.

Fortunately, a colleague has an external TV decoder with optical output and can be connected directly to the cinema.
In this way, the sound of the TV station will be in the cinema in accordance with the broadcast standard for the station.

"And that was enough ..." I hope :)

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around setting up a home cinema system with a Samsung HDMI OUT model, specifically the Samsung HT-J5500, in conjunction with a Sony Bravia KDL-40S5500 TV. The user inquires whether they can achieve 5.1 surround sound while watching movies on the built-in Blu-ray player and through a cable box. Responses clarify that without ARC (Audio Return Channel) support on the TV, audio cannot be transmitted via HDMI. Instead, sound from the cable box must be routed through an optical connection to the home cinema system. When playing Blu-ray discs, the sound will be sourced directly from the cinema system, while the TV will only display the video signal. The importance of configuring the audio output settings on the home cinema to direct sound through the optical output is emphasized.
