Hello, in this subject I am creating a home studio and I care about very good quality of the recorded sound. I have a few questions namely:

    1) Which computer is better desktop or laptop? (there are many opinions on this topic on the internet, but I want the person who worked on this topic to say: first I had a laptop but then I changed to a stationary one and why or vice versa :) )

    2) How is it in the case of the usb interface (I have a focusrite scarlett 6i6 2gen.) When we connect it to a desktop computer, the internal sound card itself will work or the sound card will work and it will improve the sound quality of the external card? will only an external card work (because I do not hide that I do not understand this topic a bit :( )

I am asking for understanding and some answers, hints, etc.

    best regards

In my opinion, a desktop computer is a much better solution in the studio:
    1. We have more possibilities of expansion when it comes to sound processing systems (sound cards for PCI, PCIe, USB). In 99% of laptops we only have USB.
    2. In a PC computer we have a chance to obtain a much lower noise level using a good quality power supply. There is an emphasis on miniaturization in the laptop, and sometimes their built-in converters sow so much that there's nothing you can do about it (I've done it a few times).

It will just show two sound cards. Which one you will use is your choice.

A stationary machine is better if we have a studio in one place and we do not record outdoors. Conditionally, it is necessary to make its operation soundproof, because the windmills can be of poor quality and make merciless noise. As much more expandability as possible, not only with audio equipment, but also with PC components. I record on both myself, both have their advantages and disadvantages. I recommend buying a UPS for a PC right away, because I do not wish you to lose a few hours of work when the electricity suddenly goes out ... But we pack the paw in a bag with a card, microphone and cables and we have a mobile recording studio for several hours outdoors. It all depends on what you need and you have to choose the equipment for yourself.
