Hello. I have a problem with the above mentioned ps3 console. After inserting the disc and closing the flap, the drive tries to read it for sure, because there is a hum but as if it is summoned, i.e. the moments will rumble and the pause will rumble again and pause, so three times shortly 3 the longest, then 4 times longer so that you could think that it would finally read but nothing. in the upper right corner it spins until you stop trying to read the CD, then it stops.

I have already bought consoles with this problem with the intention to repair it, but I would like to rule out any minor faults before I start replacing the drive / laser.

Ps. The console has probably already been dismantled because the two screws are missing under the plate (they are probably on the cushions, but their absence should probably not result in such an action). The flap opens and closes lame and it was rather dirty, because the 3 broken pads that I got with it after cleaning roast normally.

Best regards and thanks in advance for any helpful information.

Does it spin the record correctly, the head moves, goes back to the beginning?

Ta how to check it? Honestly, I have never repaired ss and I'm green .. Faty happened to me and the power supply in the slimie was repaired after the instructions from the net ao super slimie not much written ..

OK, I figured out how to check it :) I took off the bottom and top trim and pressed the latch from closing the flap and the disc gripper. The laser head moves up and down the plate also turns well for my eye .. If I succeed, I will post a video of how it goes

    Added after 4 [minutes]:

Unfortunately, the video does not want to pass in the attachment through a bad .mov extension which also does not support ass

It looks like the head has a reading problem, although I might be wrong.

So it's best to replace the laser? So it's normal with this forest not shining all the time while shooting the record? Because I noticed that most of the time this laser does not shine

Is blue or red on? Maybe the infrared light is on? The drive may have trouble recognizing the media type.

Dude, do you know if feature-4004c will approach my features-4204a?

    Added after 11 [minutes]:

    That's how red shines

    Added after 2 [minutes]:

But blue also noticed that it is shining, now I checked again

I do not know if it will come up, compare the markings of the laser mechanism / head.

I am about to disassemble mine and check because I have a drive for a good price.

Ps. I have now uploaded the movie on DVD and it is reading from the arrow

    Added after 22 [minutes]:

Hell, it has a little different markings .. Better not to risk it, right?

From what I read at auctions with lasers, they sell lasers with the designation kem-850 .. So the laser, at most, the same drive can be different, then I will switch it. Once a goat's death for PLN 70 I can buy the entire drive.

KEM-850PHA is like the same designation.

Hello forum colleagues. If I do not praise it, it is as if the end of the topic is missing, so I write. The drive has reached me today, according to the photo the markings were a bit different but the laser model itself was the same.

So first I put the entire purchased drive for a test, but the system did not start it (the same situation as in facie when you insert a drive from another console model because I have already processed).

I assumed that this is how it may be, so I opened the console once again, I threw the laser from the drive I bought to mine and the console is like bad :) So successful investment!

If someone, for example, needed a drive marked as in the picture or some part of this drive, feel free to write, I will give it back for a small amount of money. The 99% drive is Ok because it was bought from a person who had a console with a dead gba. Dumpster laser (only reads DVD) but put in place.

Once again, thanks to my colleague Sylweksylvania for helpful comments.

Greetings to the forum members :)
