Hello,
the case concerns the energy management module HELBAKO MPM HW 00.3 FSV 5.10.26, which got wet.
In the BMW E61 it is mounted under the spare wheel where it is exposed to moisture, especially when it clogs the channels draining water from the sunroof. I found a photo of a non-infected plate that looks like this:
Closer to the area that is damaged in my area:
Unfortunately, in my plate, corrosion got soldering pads and a few elements.
I'm not sure how layered this tile is, maybe someone will be able to determine it based on the photo
If 4-layer repair, it becomes practically impossible to:
Elements affected by corrosion have been desoldered, undamaged pads cleaned of tin.
The TLE chip has corroded and completely disappeared together with the pad, element No. 1, which probably was the resistor disappeared, element No. 2 is but does not show any resistance, element 102 can be read on element No. 3, while element no. 4 has not yet has been deciphered to the end, but these are most likely 2 diodes.
I do not have a schematic of this module and I do not know if it can still be saved. That's why I turn to colleagues asking for some advice.
At the beginning I would like to rebuild the connections if it is feasible at all. I am not a service technician, but I have some required equipment. At the end a few more photos that can give some hints. Greetings.
