    Hello

For some time now, I have blurry labels on waybills.
Until recently, I had this problem every few labels, now it started to get worse and most of the labels on this printer come out more or less like in the attached picture. (I have blurred my personal details in red, but on the left side
I use a drive roll because it has already printed several thousand labels.

Maybe memory, maybe you have some other ideas.

Tomorrow I will bring a rubber regeneration agent to the company and I will temporarily regenerate this roll, but maybe in the meantime you can tell me if it is a roll or where to look for the reason for such a printout.

Probably the end of the head. Was cleaning before the new roll according to the manufacturer's instructions?

The head has probably never been cleaned :) . The strange thing is that sometimes it prints well and sometimes it does the same prints as I have shown.
I haven't regenerated this pinch roller yet. For now, I have replaced it with a different printer.
If it is a print head, it is not worth replacing it. But it doesn't look like a head to me. When the head falls, either the printout is faint or it does not print at all and here, instead of straight lines, it makes bushes.

I cleaned the head, regenerated the rubber roller, and so far she has printed several dozen letters :) no problem. Worse, this problem did not appear on all printouts before, but it appeared sometimes. It was only after some time of such occasional failures that she started to print every single label.

Maybe it's a cold February ...? Let her print, see what happens to her.

PS. The fact that the label is light is the fault of the scanner I used to scan it with. Printout is well blackened normally. It's just about smearing the barcode and other text on the right side of the label.

I got used equipment, so I have to enter the service mode and check the head wear. As for blurry codes, I also have a problem with that. Additionally, my printer did not print right in the center (blank strip). After many cleanings and adjustments (print speed and blackness) it started to print nicely.
Regarding blurry codes, this is the result of the adhesive used on the sticker tape. The manufacturer claims that this is the fault of the lack of cleaning with a special marker pen after each roller change.

And, unfortunately, nothing helped. She started smearing the labels again :( .

Is it normal for a printer with a damaged head to print a little bit perfectly and allow a printout in some time?

    Hello :)

I will step on the topic. My zebra printer has stopped printing normally and how do i fix it. The printer began to distort the printouts. Instead of the entire label, it prints in half and, in addition, everything is flattened. I already reset it and calibrated it and it didn't help. A friend had a new stepper motor which we replaced and it is still the same. I attach a photo and ask for help with the repair.

I read somewhere that this is a memory problem. I didn't fix mine. I replaced it with a new (used) one.

The strangest thing is that the printer works and no error occurs. It only has a problem with calibration sometimes, it will calibrate once and not. The error does not light up. It also has a problem with the correct label setting. Sometimes it will set well and sometimes it will halfway. Print without changes. It prints a flat label on half of the page each time.

I will connect to the existing topic because it fits.
    Zebra ZDesigner LP 2844 printer.
Most of the labels print correctly (paczkomaty / dpd / Pocztex), there is only a problem with printing one type of font in inpost courier labels.
Can anyone tell if it's a problem of the printer itself or just the settings? And, if necessary, suggest what settings to change to improve the readability of what is marked in red.

In the printing preferences, set the print type to: diffuse. Then it should be ok.

In the "scatter" tab, I have the "Scatter type", the following options are available: smooth (checked) / scanned / detail / none.

Please try detailed. If it doesn't help, you won't do anything about it. These printers have poor resolution. It is similar for me with inpost courier labels. The rest is ok.

Can anyone tell me how to enter the code in the ZPL file so that the printer prints a black background on the entire surface of the label? I want to check the quality and condition of the head.

    Hi,
Check the roller under the head, blackness, but it may also be the fault of the clamp.
What if there's a bad print on every label and you can see the cycle? It could be a roller.

    ^XA
    ^FO10,10^GB500,500,500^FS
    ^XZ

the above code prints a rectangle where FO10,10 position in pixels of the beginning of the rectangle, GB500,500,500 width and height and fill thickness

If you adjust the above to the size of the label, you should print a blackened label.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around issues with blurry prints from the Zebra GK420d thermal printer. Users report inconsistent print quality, with some labels appearing clear while others are smudged or distorted.
