Hello, I have a computer with Windows Xp sp3. I installed the ICR-Z1 card reader in it. After inserting a 2 GB SD memory card, an AutoPlay window appears on the computer desktop but cannot play the memory card. I put screenshots. What can you do to make your computer see the memory card? I am asking for a quick reply, thank you in advance. I showed hidden devices. I was still thinking about the reader and it turned out that the pin 9 of the sd card reader was bent. I corrected it and measured it with a meter or connections, but it did nothing. Windows XP SP3, ICR-Z1 Card Reader Not Recognizing 2GB SD Memory Card: AutoPlay Issue

What computer is this? Configuration, make / model of the motherboard.

Have you tried on another card, does the reader recognize it correctly?

I assume that you checked the reader in another computer and you can be sure that it works and the pins to the board are well connected.
If the above statement is true, then look here: UCR-61S . Your reader looks similar to the UCR described there. Look inside and see if the same system is sitting there, because if so it could be the reason.
In my case, UCR also didn't want to work under Windows XP without the drivers described there. After installing the driver, the reader worked, but I finally decided to desolder the resistor and make a jumper.

I took this reader apart and it has an identical layout. I will download these drivers, install them, and we will see.

I installed the drivers and nothing, I still can't read the card. However, this chip has a different one, NEODIO ND3050-LD sits there.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a user experiencing issues with an ICR-Z1 card reader on a Windows XP SP3 system, where a 2GB SD memory card is not recognized despite an AutoPlay window appearing. Initial troubleshooting steps included checking disk management and hidden devices in Device Manager. The user discovered a bent pin in the card reader but after correcting it, the issue persisted. Further inquiries about the computer's specifications revealed a Gigabyte GA-K8N51-GMF9 motherboard and an AMD Sempron 3000+ processor. Suggestions included testing the card reader on another computer and checking for driver compatibility. The user later identified that the card reader's chip was a NEODIO ND3050-LD and attempted to install drivers specific to a similar model (UCR-61S), but the problem remained unresolved.
