    Hello

    I have a question:

Is it possible to come out with sound from Samsung TV K5500 Series 5 on the amplifier Technics SU-808 ?

I have purchased something such , but after connecting via 3.5mm jack cable -> cinch unfortunately does not work. I will be grateful for your help.

    He quotes:

"Are you wondering if the adapter will work with your device? Answer the following questions:

Does the device have an optical output / input?
Is the cable to which we connect the adapter an optical cable?
By connecting the adapter to an analog cable with JACK 3.5 plug you will not get any effect. "

What kind of cable did you finally connect it?

I connected it using a 3.5mm jack -> cinch cable.

I also read this description (although I found this page after the fact) and I do not understand it too much, because the adapter has a JACK 3.5 output .... what is it for ??

What you bought is an optical connector adapter (to an optical connector), simply speaking, a fiber optic connector. And you connected an ordinary "wire" to it. As you noticed, it won't work like that.
The "wires" have different plugs, eg small, large, cinch, DIN, etc. jacks. The same optical fiber can have different plugs.

The TV has an optical output, so a cable on one side an optical input on the other RCA (-cinch). About PLN 70 in the store.

    Added after 1 [minutes]:

RCA in e.g. cd or aux in the amplifier

For example, on the well-known portal optical-coaxial-to-stereo-converter-power-usb-i6015669841.html.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around connecting a Samsung TV K5500 Series 5 to a Technics SU-808 amplifier using a 3.5mm jack to RCA (cinch) cable. The user initially attempted this connection but encountered issues with sound output. Responses clarified that the TV has an optical output, and the user mistakenly used an optical connector adapter with an analog cable, which is incompatible. A solution was suggested to use an optical cable from the TV's optical output to an RCA input on the amplifier, with a recommendation to purchase an optical-to-RCA converter for proper connectivity.
