What do you think about the new 4-mix engines that Stihl assembles more often in its products? Are two-stroke traditions better when it comes to durability and reliability?

A friend bought a 4-mix grass trimmer a year ago. From what he said expensive, he works strangely and has little power. I did not have direct contact, but the idea itself seems strange to me and I do not believe in the high durability of this engine.

Reading from Polish and English forums, one can come to the conclusion that problems with the timing mechanism appear quite quickly and often and complaints about the poor quality of components are heard. What advantage do these 4 strokes have over 2? Eco, quieter work, lightness are no advantages. Even priced, they're cheaper compared to the 2-mix when they came out. How often do you need to adjust the valves on these engines?

    >>16466709 I've owned one for 3 years now, after the first year quite a bit of servicing (adjusting valves, replacing gaskets etc). It's worked maybe 60 hours in 2 years (I'm mowing a plot of land for construction so it doesn't get overgrown). I mainly mow quite thick grass, with a line it can handle it without any problems. As far as the trident is concerned, no problem either. But after these 2 years, I can see that a specific overhaul is in the pipeline again and I think I'll start looking around for another mower.... The scythe itself quite powerful for the capacity, it mows well, but the service is quite expensive.
