    Hello,
I'm preparing to buy a second saw. I have been using MS180 for about 10 years, I repaired it once (piston, sealants, bearings, etc.). It did a lot of work. I would like to ask if buying another one is worth choosing a newer MS181 model. Do MS180 currently available also have a 2 mix engine? Is it worth paying extra PLN to a new construction? What is the main difference between MS180 and MS181?

    best regards

MS 181 power 1.5 kW / 2.0HP engine 2-MIX fuel consumption reduced by up to 20%, exhaust gas up to 70%.

I would stay with the proven MS 180 1.4 kW / 1.9 HP power 2-MIX engine.
As soon as chain lubrication and maintenance are monitored, it will last a long time.

Does it mean that MS181 smokes less by 20% and kopci less by 70% than MS180?

MS 181 - Theoretically interesting if it is as much as 70% of exhaust emissions.

    STIHL 2-MIX engine link

During the flushing process, a fuel-free air layer is placed
between exhaust fumes and a fresh portion of the mixture in the engine crankcase.
The result: reduced fuel losses during the flushing process, protection of operator's health and the environment and up to 20% less
fuel consumption compared to two-stroke models with the same power of 2-MIX technology.
