    Hello,

One day I was watching TV. Suddenly, the picture disappeared and only the sound could be heard through the HiFi speakers to which the TV was connected.
As the warranty is no longer valid, maybe I can fix it on my own.

I started the TV. I looked at these plates, paths, capacitors, etc., wires, tapes, but I could see nothing with the naked eye.
If the TV is switched on, then there is a reaction to adjusting the volume (the diode blinks quickly - this should be the case), so the power is on. It looks like a screen problem.
Maybe you dear users have ideas, how can you check what can be the reason? Maybe tape?

If I were to buy some parts, I would prefer ebay uk, or other stores in the UK because I live abroad. In addition, if you need to buy a meter or other inexpensive equipment - no problem.

If necessary, I can insert photos.

    greetings

First, highlight the matrix with the flashlight and call up the menu to make it easier for the remote control and see if the matrix with the flashlight gives the picture. As the image is, the matrix backlight is damaged. Usually, one or more LED diodes are defective in the backlight. It is necessary to dismantle the matrix, but I warn you this is an inexperienced risky operation that threatens the mechanical damage of the panel. And look for this diode which has a break ...

    Thank you for your response.

I highlighted this matrix. You were right. The backlight is damaged. The picture shows a no signal message moment after starting the TV, as no source is connected.

What do you propose to do in this situation? Are there other options besides looking for these skipped diodes?

Replace the entire strip together with the defective diode.

Maybe someone would have a guide for novices, how to do it? Will it be profitable at all?

I think that even if I damage something, it can not be worse.

Is there any other thing that could cause this fault? Maybe LEDs are functional only some element or elements "on the way" are damaged?

There are cases that it does not connect any connector in the middle of the matrix in the backlight. Either way, the matrix must be undressed.

Thank you for your answers so far. They really help me a lot.

I would like to ask you to identify the symbol from the LED strip. It's nice if I bought the right one, that's why I'm asking.

In the attached picture there is a symbol - D2GE-320SC1-R0 ..., at least I think that's the point. Do I have to look for identical slats after this designation?

Honestly, I thought that if one strip is damaged, the rest should work.

I did not ask for a link but I wanted to make sure that I need to look for this strip after this symbol. I found on ebay with an identical symbol only from another tv model.

I still want to make sure that the number on this pink sticker may be different? I have 640_S at my place and 699_S on what I want to buy.

@robokop - thanks for the link. I appreciate it (in the positive sense of the word)

Without measurements, you take apart the matrix 8-O .

The power supply may be damaged as well.
How do you know which strip to replace, because there is probably not only one?

Additionally, after repairing the TV, I suggest reducing the backlight by 20% because every time I fixed this type of fault, the slider was 100%

@PF - could you write something more about this power supply?

The slats are five. I plan to buy one and replace it. Two or more may be damaged.

I have been considering the purchase of a meter for some time. This thought did not come to my mind after the TV stopped working properly. In the future I would definitely use it. I am a person who likes to "tinker" and not immediately to the site. You can always learn something interesting

Will the "universal meter" work in this case? If so, I will stop buying the skirting board. I will look for topics on the forum about the meters (they are probably). I will do the measurements (I have never done them before) and then there should be less unknowns.

In case it is the fault of the strip / strips with LED diodes. I repeat the cited question that I knew for the future.

The brightness of the backlight was not at max. I'm not sure about the contrast, etc.

Thank you for your time for answers :spoko:

If you do not have a meter, you behave like a fairy.
Dismantling the matrix should be the last step after checking other things.
At the moment you do not even know if anything is feeding diodes.

But, as you picked the slats on top, it would be a shame not to check them out.
There are many topics on the forum on this subject.

    Welcome after a week break.

I ordered a meter. I had a problem because it turned out that this meter what I ordered is not available in warehouses. I ordered the next one and it should be this week around Wednesday, as it will be - we will see.

While waiting for the device, I want to insert here on the forum photos of tiles, as well as ask you to indicate the elements (in addition to the aforementioned power supply and strips with LEDs) that would be worth checking.

    EDIT ------

What I wrote above is pointless. I will check everything I can on the brown power supply board.

    EDIT 2 -----

I already have a meter. Maybe a stupid question, but should I measure AC or DC?

I do not think there is any point in me editing the above post once again.

I have not noticed it before, but the two lower strips with LEDs blink every few seconds. This is a very weak wink. Only a fraction of a second, in the addition very poorly. I noticed it only because I covered the blinds, it was dark and I sat down to the desk to light the lamp.

I have measured DC power strips where there is + and - at the terminals. Tensions are. If I'm doing something wrong about it - I am asking for comments.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around troubleshooting a Samsung LCD TV model UE32F5000AK, which has lost its picture while sound remains functional. The initial diagnosis suggests a backlight issue, likely due to defective LED diodes. Users recommend checking the matrix with a flashlight to confirm backlight functionality and suggest replacing the entire LED strip if necessary. The author expresses interest in DIY repairs and seeks guidance on identifying the correct replacement parts, including the LED strip marked D2GE-320SC1-R0. There are discussions about the importance of using a multimeter to check power supply and LED functionality before disassembling the TV. The conversation highlights the need for caution when handling the matrix and emphasizes the potential for multiple components to be faulty.
