On TV, the image dims from halfway down. I am looking for a power supply diagram or practical knowledge whether to focus on controlling the backlight or LEDs. BN44-00518B power supply with SLC5012M controller. I didn't find the power supply diagram, even the PDF SLC is a problem. I made several LEDs, but with full backlight (then the entire backlight went out as a result of damage to one or more diodes connected in series). Here, the backlight is edge-like and the symptom is different because the backlight is only half functional. Some people will probably be outraged that I'm asking before disassembling the panel, but I admit that when I take out these delicate matrices (especially those above 42"), "sweat runs down my ass".
    Please give me suggestions.

You need to make precise measurements of the voltage on the backlight plug.
Some backlight branch is not working for you. You need to locate which is not working. You can compare the voltages (working branches with bends had similar voltages). The most important thing to locate it, depending on the system solution, one or more branches may not work. Individual branches should be terminated with power-to-ground transistors.

    Hello.
I do not know the systemic solution that exists there.
But it may also be that there are only two backlight branches, one from the bottom of the screen. and the other from the top of the screen. Then you check them separately by applying voltage to them. Backlight plug then disconnected from the board. Approximate value of nap. needed to check, you will then have on the good working one
branch. Then you will find out if the backlight in the matrix is damaged, part of it
damaged inverter. When checking the backlight from a separate power supply, first connect a slightly lower voltage, and necessarily through a resistor in series (for safety).
    Greetings.

Thank you Lisek for the documentation, she helped me a lot, and I couldn't find it myself. mery5 you will probably have damaged LEDs in your backlight. In my case, two are damaged. Interestingly, one has a break, the other has a short circuit. In order to "cheat the current control system, I would like to install diodes, for example 1n4148, due to the lack of originals. Do you have any experience in this topic?

I asked about the practical side, because theoretically three 1N4148 for one led should be enough. I don't know what will happen with the brightness adjustment. I meant practice.

    Hello.
This is how it comes out if it is not done exactly in sequence.
I wrote earlier that you need to gradually narrow the field where the damage will be.
5 days of time lost, and you still have to start all over again.
If you think a little, measure it, even if you do it carefully, you can check the backlight in the matrix within a few hours.
My friend "Adewag", a power led, and a low-power pulse diode, is similar to "winter shoes for summer flip-flops". These are shoes and these are shoes.

Kol Andrzej4567, thank you for the information, I was 100% sure that the 1N4148 diode is a replacement for the S2LVDIBIBL3BB diode. The only difference I could find was:
    1N41 LED lights up pink.
I have a question for Andrzej4567. Why the conclusion that the author of the topic lost 5 days and has to start all over again, since he was active on the forum only on March 13?

    Hello.
Buddy "mery 5", from the photos available on the internet you can see that you have a matrix that you have
2 illumination cable bundles led outside. There are also 2 backlight connectors, one from the top of the screen and one from the bottom. One beam from the top of the screen and the other beam from the bottom of the screen. There are more cables in the bundle, because these are outputs from individual parts, from one strip.
The led inverter consists of two sub-inverters. One again from the top of the screen and the other from the bottom of the screen. From the photos you can see that each subinverter has only one power transistor in the backlight to ground branch. From this it is clear that these individual parts from the entire one led strip (e.g. only the top of the screen) are connected in series to the outside in the backlight (power supply) socket. So the general illumination scheme is as follows: one branch from the bottom of the screen, and the other branch from the top of the screen. As the wires leading out of the matrix, as well as the connection system in the backlight socket, are practically identical, it is possible to figure out a lot from the measurements which backlight socket is "out of order".
You can also disconnect this serial connection in a suspicious socket and connect a milliammeter to the series. You can do the same with the backlight working
in order to get an idea of the amount of the backlight current. You can also remove the backlight plugs, one time, the other, with the receiver turned off and the receiver turned on, we see which socket (plug) is "out of order". Connect the drive from a separate power supply to the "inactive" plug and then check the lower backlight in the matrix. To sum up, at the beginning, we check the voltage on the backlight electrolytes (each subinverter has its own electrolyte), both should be the same voltage, and the voltage on the twin
the backlight plugs, or the backlight current both at the top of the screen and at the bottom. Finally, when it turns out that one of these two subinverters is not working, taking advantage of the fact that there are also twin solutions and their construction, we make measurements (whether, for example, a keying transistor is working), with the possible replacement of the above-mentioned chip.

Repair of the so-called "non-technological" is possible. Three 1N4148 LEDs for one LED. The difference in the quality of the backlight is imperceptible. Proven, intensively tested for 4 days.
    Such shoes :|

    PS
Everything we do, we do at our own risk, I do not persuade anyone to use this type of solution. For the safety and correct effect of the repair, use original components.

And it would be even better if I could see it. ;)

I will graciously skip the fact that the current around 120mA is not at all nice for a diode made for a nominal current of 200mA. ;)

What do you think? How many LEDs in this backlight could be shorted, and the control would be fine anyway? After all, the current one is. In addition, you can slightly change the parameters of the power supply.
Please do not understand that I recommend jumpers because I do not. ;)

And for the future, try not to hang up with your problems on other users' topics, because it's getting messy.
Although I have reported twice, you will not experience either the topic not divided or even any remarks about non-compliance with the regulations. ;)

You know very well that 1N4148 is a diode intended mostly for low-power impulse circuits. Known for a long time. After all, it is not any led diode. So that writing that it shines was a big oversight on your part.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a Samsung UE46ES6100 television experiencing a backlight issue where the image dims from halfway down the screen. The user seeks guidance on whether to focus on the power supply (BN44-00518B) or the LED driver (SLC5012M) for troubleshooting. Participants suggest measuring voltages on the backlight plug to identify non-functional branches and recommend checking the backlight with a separate power supply. Various responses provide insights into the components involved, including the matrix type (LTJ460HW05-V) and potential replacements for damaged LEDs. The conversation also touches on the lack of datasheets for the SLC5012M and discusses alternative solutions for LED replacements, including using 1N4148 diodes. Overall, the community emphasizes careful measurement and testing to diagnose and repair the backlight issue effectively.
