[Solved] B&S Qattro 40 Engine: Replacing Starter Cord & Drilling Rivets for Mower Maintenance

Until now, I had a mower with a Quantum series engine and there it was easy to replace the starter cord. Now I have a Qattro 40 engine, and the first problem I encountered was after removing the upper housing, I saw a riveted starter. Do you need to drill rivets to replace the cable?

Or remove the entire engine cover, I do not know what this engine looks like, but it is also with me. The mower is Husqvarna Jet 55, a 4.5 HP B&S engine. There is a fuel tank to unscrew (3 small screws and one bigger under the tank and 4 holding the whole cover).
I do not know what housing you took off, for me there is such a plastic cover / decoration "pressed" and under it you can see three rivets holding a metal housing with a cable wheel. Pictures would help a little.

Well, it's similar to my engine, although a little different, I still have a fuel tank behind the housing / engine cover, it "hangs" on it and you need to unscrew it. You need to remove the entire housing (green arrow), and where to unscrew you have to look, certainly no more than 4 - 5 screws to unscrew. Look for screws at the bottom edge of this housing / engine cover. The only problem is that the most likely these screws are in inch sizes (in my mower, the second in turn with the B&S engine it is) and it is best to have keys in inch sizes, or "adjust", the screws should not get lost either threads also inch and it would be difficult to match the right ones.

As buddy wrote, remove the entire housing and then everything is on top with easy access. Remember only to tension the cable, leaving the right length, so at least it was with me where the start is not at the engine but the handle to guide the mower.
