Hello, recently I had to replace the lighter socket in the car (Mondeo MK4), because after daily insertion of the plug from the camera to the socket and its removal damage to the socket, and then the plug itself from the camera.

I would like to solve my problem in this way, to connect the camera permanently to the car, i.e. when the car was started, the camera would start, i mean I need to look for a plus after ignition?
So I cut off the tip (plug) which I plug into the cigarette lighter socket and solder to the plus after ignition anyway?

The car is Mondeo Mk4 2008 and the camera is the Navitel R800. Can anyone suggest where to look for such a cable in Mondeo?

I would do something like this:
    1. "plus" from the cigarette lighter fuse via a relay to the video recorder
2a. "plus" after the ignition switch to turn on the relay
2b. "plus" electrical antenna from the radio to switch on the relay

    Cables search for radio.

I understand correctly, do you want to cut off the PSU and connect the recorder directly to the car installation? Well, only a beautiful balloon will go from it.

Get an extra lighter socket hidden in the glove compartment or somewhere in a car corner, plug in the original power supply and settle the case.

I did that and now the camera doesn't work, what to do? R800, is there any point in repairing it?

What have you done? Because you write so chaotically that it`s hard to understand what exactly happened.

Why hasn`t anyone posted this topic?

I think it would be a bad idea at this point because the topic has become cautionary.

This is probably a topic for another section, but for me it`s rather cooked to perfection.

I don`t think it`s worth going somewhere with it, but rather to the store for a new one.
