    Hello,

I would like to connect to the 12V car network by using a bypass plug in the fuse box under the steering wheel
    - Power supply for video recorder from the bypass fuse socket
not to interfere with the installation of the car.

And then use the 12V to 5V USB converter:
    - Power supply for video recorder from the bypass fuse socket
and pull the cable up to the video recorder.

However, I would like the voltage to be given only when the car is turned on, so that the recorder will automatically turn itself off when the engine is turned off.
I checked the meter with an example of a fuse socket responsible for 'Multimedia, 12V front socket' and it turned out that there was 12V voltage there all the time, even when the ignition key was not in the ignition.

Where would I have to hook up to receive 12V only when the engine is running? (I would care not to interfere with the installation)
Are there any sockets in the fuse box where 12V is not served all the time?
At the moment the only solution that comes to mind is the on / off switch between the bypass and the converter, which is not very convenient.

    Greetings!

All circuits supplied from the so-called line 15 where there is power after turning the key in the "ignition" position.
We do not know what car you have, so look for a meter or a light bulb.

I wanted to set up such an installation in Fiat Grande Punto (1.2 petrol, 2008).
Available fuses in the box under the steering wheel: (car without instructions in Polish)
    - Power supply for video recorder from the bypass fuse socket

and in Citroen C4 Picasso (1.6 vTi, 2009):
    - Power supply for video recorder from the bypass fuse socket

    Thank you for the tips.
We managed to find fuse sockets that give the tension after turning the key in the ignition.
