    Hello all
I plan to build a garden pool cheaply. I started writing in the topic "heating the garden pool". And here I will continue.
A short list of how I want to do it. I am planning to dig a hole. At the bottom of the spout. The sides of the sheet and padded will be a ready-made basin. The budget for it is about 4000 zlotys.
    Trying on the finished cartridge

You do not expect problems at the interface between the sheet and the insert.
It would not be better to put the bottom and walls of polystyrene (eg, stick) for at least two reasons?
How do you intend to finish the mountain and protect the sheet from water?
What will you do in a situation when the pool breaks and you are left with a basin full of water, will it not do you damage in the area? Have you thought about some bottom drainage?

    How big is this pool?
The sheet will come out more expensive than concrete. The walls can be built from blocks.

The sheet seems to me unsuitable due to the need for protection against corrosion or edge machining. Pools have always been made of brick or poured and it is better to stick to it. In the winter when the water will come, the earth will be pushing on the sides and may slip down with poor construction.

Al-Zn coated sheet 0.6 mm thick, such as in Canadian basins. The cost is 650 PLN, 730x370x125cm

I give the tin as it is in Canadian basins and these basins can be buried completely in the ground and covered with sand and you do not need to drain the water for the winter, only 1/3 is drained.

The beginning of digging. After two digging evenings yesterday, I poured the bottom of Concrete b 25 + dispersed reinforcement + sealer and super plasticizer and such effect

Today is the next evening of work and the sheet is set. Notched groove in concrete sealed with roofing silicone + roofing tape. Tomorrow, the styrodur 2 cm on the bottom of a duffel fleece 500 g. On the walls, the polystyrene foam 4 cm.

I also think that it is completely cheap. I give the best materials, and I think to save on the work and good ideas. Today is another evening of work and
Coarse foil on the outside of the sheet. Styrodur on the bottom. Geotextile on styrodur
Styrofoam sides on the walls. Distribution of the cartridge and pouring the basin with warm water for a good stretch of rubber.

You probably will not forget about filtration of water ?, this is particularly important.
For this protection and protection for the night.
In our climate you would often have to warm up, I had such a pool when the children were small and I will say, short, the same problems, from a short summer, continuous cleaning, and ending with biting flies that are attached can dive.
    But good luck.

The filter bought 12 m3 per hour. Heating will be from solars and CO furnace, and solar foil to the top. Today, pouring water and covering the sides.

Another work evening. Water poured almost to full. And a covered solar film. And the sides are showered on the bottom with breakage fraction of 1-3 mm, and the rest of the ballast under the ankle.

I will start tomorrow. Work at the terrace. So far, 4,500 zlotys have been spent, and in this we already have a filter. But no terrace and heat exchanger. The budget is a bit disturbed but regardless of everything, we end up on the tip top.

Where did you make the mistake by estimating your budget?

I did not count solar film, cost 380 PLN. Brushes and nozzle for vacuum cleaner + chlorine and float for chlorine 150 PLN. I did not count styrofoam, the whole is insulated and it was worth the cost of PLN 500.

The pool is over. I do not have an exchanger connected yet, but the water still stays within 27 degrees because it is all insulated.

We are planning a similar investment in a home garden.

How does a swimming pool last a year from construction?

Is there something you would do differently and it would be worth it?

I would be very grateful for your help :)

Hello, we are planning to build a Canadian basin in spring. Would you change anything? How does the foil (insert) work after winter? Is it destroyed? Is it hard to clean? Because it is very thin and I'm afraid ...

I'm afraid there won't be fireworks when it comes to exercising such a pool in the long run.
It is a rather innovative idea to sell a house faster and more expensive without excessive expenditure, and let the buyer worry about the pool.
With such a construction sooner or later the groundwater and rainwater will come and that there will be no air access under the foils, there will simply be one big stink. In addition, such rotting water has properties accelerating the degradation of materials used for such constructions as plastics and metal.
I am afraid that after the first cleaning after winter there will be no such euphoria as during construction.
Not to mention mosquitoes and other insects.
The general principles are that the cheaper the design, the more expensive and laborious maintenance and operation.
The author did not add a new fence to the pool costs to have some privacy by using the pool.

Somehow, this Canadian patent does not appeal to me, their houses of cardboard and thin boards also not necessarily :)
I am considering building a swimming pool myself, but it will definitely be a masonry structure, I am still investigating the topic of concrete blocks reinforced to the ground or "lego blocks" reinforced and poured with foam.

Well, there is no winter - but probably on January 10th - I looked at the thermometer: -5 degrees Celsius the author of the thread does not bathe in this pool ???

of course he doesn't bathe now, I mean the technical aspect, a few winters behind him, rains, weeks of use in summer.
was he building again this way? whether the project did not work out and was buried after a year :)

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around constructing a budget-friendly backyard pool using a ready-made basin with a budget of approximately 4000 zlotys. The initial plan involves digging a hole and using a sheet for the pool's bottom and sides. Participants raise concerns about potential issues such as corrosion, structural integrity, and the need for proper drainage. Suggestions include using polystyrene for insulation and ensuring adequate filtration and heating systems. The author shares progress updates, including the installation of a filter and insulation materials, while also noting that the budget has slightly exceeded due to additional costs for materials like solar film and chlorine. The conversation touches on the long-term viability of such a pool design, with some expressing skepticism about its durability and maintenance challenges.
