    Hello
and it started with the almost new Ricoh ... it displays sc672, sometimes nothing is displayed because the display panel is not lit at all and sometimes the text please wait is lit all the time and nothing turns on.
I unplugged the hard disk option, took out the sd printer / scaner card and started, again I put everything back on again, deleted the HDD format and left it like a working device. After an hour, the problems returned, sc672.
Something colleagues will do, what to do with it, is it the fault of the disk, replace it?
Has anyone already fought with such a thing in this model series 28..52.

Controller-to-operation panel communication error at startup
After powering on the machine, the communication circuit between the controller
and the operation panel is not opened, or communication with controller is
    interrupted after a normal startup.
    • Controller stalled
    • Controller board installed incorrectly
    • Controller board defective
    • Operation panel connector loose or defective
    1. Check the harness connection.
    2. Replace the controller board

Once I came across this problem in 2852. It turned out that the plate was dusted with toner blown in the machine. The fact that the machine almost 1 million mileage, still intensively used. Thorough vacuuming of the entire interior, unplugging all connectors, plugs, removing and reinstalling all bones and modules on the board helped. From that moment calm down. Symptoms similar to what you described.

I sat up and made it, and it did nothing. What you could even have refreshed and nothing. Now all the time sc672, yesterday it sometimes joined and today not once.
Should I have to replace the controller? Cry.

Look, maybe someone has got damaged with another problem or you can buy for little money.
I will not even mention the price of the controller, it's a new one.

And you substituted this disc because, like before, unplugging it had some effects. You can also clear the memory on the controller (contacts).
Although, unfortunately, but I bet on this controller ...

Buddy, try connecting the oscilloscope to the power supply's voltage outputs.
Have you looked at the capacitors? Maybe the machine has a small mileage, and it was soooo long switched on without using and someone turned it off recently?

    Several issues guide me:
    1) Turns on once, sometimes not, then turns on again - Maybe the question of thermics,

    2) You took out the plates you blew, turned on and went out - maybe cold solder on one of the connectors?

    3) You have disconnected something - the current load has dropped and the power supply was fine, now it can't. heating the capacitor without electrolyte = capacity decrease.

    EDIT:

Ahh - one more thing may seem strange, but it's worth checking out. Grounding - pin - grounding resistance? The p-plant filters at the inputs of these pulsers need good grounding.

@SanceS Dude, forgive me but you overdid it
This is not a power supply from the computer :)

Maybe I exaggerated, in the sense that nobody is carrying an oscilloscope these days?
Maybe it is actually easier to just change discs? The fact no one gouges in the modules and does not replace the capacitors. I am still inquisitive and think that it is worth finding out what caused the defect, and not change the element itself. It is worth checking before the costs of broadly understood "diagnostics" are transferred to the customer, because the content of the message indicates that there are no discs to be replaced.

This is not a problem or have you ever encountered a damaged capacitor in Ricoh because I will not in 15 years :) . In addition, no one carries the oscilloscope because such a machine is taken to the service and there it is calmly repaired and the customer gets a replacement device for the time of repair.

without the disk and other options also did not want to work properly. Once launched, once failed.
I replaced the controller. It started, it works approx.
    Thanks for the suggestions.

    Replacing the controller helped

Topic summary

The Ricoh MP 2852 is experiencing an SC ERROR 672, characterized by intermittent display issues, including a non-lit panel and persistent "please wait" messages. Users suggest that the error may stem from communication failures between the controller and the operation panel, potentially due to a defective controller board, loose connections, or dust accumulation. Solutions proposed include thorough cleaning of the machine, checking harness connections, and replacing the controller board. One user confirmed that replacing the controller resolved the issue, while others discussed the importance of diagnosing the root cause before replacing components.
