    Hello.
I am looking for a UTM for a network of about 150 devices and 2 links. I care about statistics and reports (here it should be very extensive), and, importantly, in the native language and simplicity of configuration.
Of course, functionality like any other UTM should have.
    greetings

The biggest problem is probably the Polish interface. I don't know if I have encountered anything like this.
On the other hand, when it comes to reporting - it is difficult to advise anything until you know what you require. I have personally seen a few UTMs - but none of them were free. You don't write anything about finances. And you pay for reporting - the nicer the charts, the more expensive the solution. For this you did not write what bandwidth these links are - this is the determinant of the selection of equipment. The number of devices says nothing. There can be 3 users and 147 printers :)

The budget is around 5K. links p about ki what are 2 and quite miserable so about 20/4 ...
and from non-Polish language solutions, what would colleagues advise at a reasonable price?

maybe I will add that the network is currently working on the USG unified, but it is quite sparse, no detailed traffic reports, no web protetcion ... etc
looking for something more extensive and at the same time quite simple.

One more thing, is it possible to buy a license for such a used UTM, e.g. Sophos? Because you can buy the equipment itself quite cheaply.
Does it make sense to buy such a used UTM? or maybe you can upload something new to this equipment?

Whether buying used equipment makes sense depends on the manufacturer. It is often the case that, for example, if you had a license for 2 years and then took a year off and you want to buy services again, the manufacturer wants service continuity, so you have to pay for this year's break. In addition, it is worth making sure that you can legally buy the equipment because such devices may have the status of dual-use devices and it is necessary to submit declarations. As far as I know, this is the case with Fortigate devices.

This used equipment sold at auctions is often equipment that has ended its support period - you can no longer buy anything. As a result, such a UTM becomes an ordinary firewall and does not offer anything else.

    I was thinking specifically about
Sophos UTM 320 8 Ethernet ports 10/100/1000 pci-e 2 USB inputs, offered on the Allegro.
Can something else be loaded on such equipment?

Why am I asking because I have Kerio Control licenses somewhere. I will add and I am used to this and I am looking for something similar

I don't think we quite understand each other. Are you buying UTM? That is, something that is not just a firewall and router, but also has IPS, antivirus, antispam, content control, application firewall etc. These are paid annually, which allows you to automatically download rules and signatures from the manufacturer. And then it is UTM. This is not home equipment that can be loaded with alternative firmware.
At the given price, you can get Fortiet promotions:

    My friend misunderstood me.
I meant specifically whether it is possible to install a different system on this used Sophos, for example Kerio or other soft utems.

Almost certainly not. This hardware usually has its own proprietary hardware solutions, including processors, so the software does not match. It is a bit easier in a home mass show, because certain elements are repeated, but different versions of the same model often require a different version of alternative software.

I stick to the topic because I have a dilemma.
I am thinking about Stormshield and Fortigate, I do not know if it is important what I need it for, because I have proposals and valuations, even selected models.
But I don't know which one to choose ??

Can anyone advise which company has pros and cons?

    Stormshield and Fortigate
These are devices of similar class. I was using Netasq, it's the previous name Stormshield. They worked very steadily, good support from Dagma.

Just like but which one to choose :)
I also think that everything is comparable when it comes to the price, the stormshield is a bit cheaper, but it doesn't matter that much.

It's best to buy a product from a newer series. I have netasq which has been discontinued and it cannot be supported anymore. As mentioned above, UTM becomes an ordinary firewall without a license / support.

Or maybe mikrotik + addons is a powerful tool, the firewall does the job, plus you have winbox in your native language. You have the dude for the netmap and logs. what more do you need. for 5K you can buy the most powerful version that is available. You can always put it on the X86 server machine and, for example, use a 4-port server card.

UTM is not only a firewall.

I also have Forti in one of the companies, but I think it's terrible shit, it is very poor and the 100d version should be fine.
Stormshield, heard the name too, but never had the opportunity to work on this system. I prefer mikrotik and all topics have been solved.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around finding a Unified Threat Management (UTM) solution for a small company with approximately 150 devices and two internet links. Key requirements include extensive reporting capabilities, a native Polish interface, and ease of configuration. Participants suggest several UTM options, including Barracuda and Stormshield, both of which offer Polish language support. The budget is around 5,000 PLN, and the user currently operates a USG unified device but seeks more comprehensive features. Concerns about purchasing used equipment, such as Sophos UTM 320, are raised, particularly regarding licensing and support continuity. Recommendations also include considering Fortigate and Mikrotik as alternatives, with discussions on the pros and cons of each brand.
