Hello, I have a problem with the air conditioning fan in vw passat b5 130 km. I have already replaced the brushes, I checked the fuses and the relays, everything is ok, the pressure sensor also works. The only thing I can't check is the defender, my question is whether you can bypass the resistors to check if the fan turns on in the first gear, because the second gear also switches on ok please help thank you

On the left side member, underneath, check with a 12V bulb whether it is lit on all pins when the fan will not work, with the engine on and the air conditioning on.

You have three pins with 10mm nuts so look for tension.

I checked this cube, the meter in one is 13.5 volts constant and on the other I have a tremendous voltage, once it is 13.5 vol, 2 vols, then 8 vol and I still jump

in the glove box in the orphanage under the dashboard it is English passat

    Added after 2 [minutes]:

and where exactly is this resistance what you pictured

There you have the resistance from the cabin fan and the radiator fan doesn't work.

ok, I found it, what should be the voltage on the outputs

    Added after 13 [minutes]:

no 12 volts is 4.6 volts does it mean that the resistor is damaged

Can anyone write what brushes I should use in the air conditioning fan?

    Copper graphite?
    Coal?

On the internet, from what people often wrote, they are supposed to be graphite copper, but the master I gave them for replacement says that these are for starters, not devices, where they will work for a long time. I don't see any copper admixtures in the original brushes, which could confirm his words.

hello, like a colleague Domex32 wrote, I replaced the resistance bar underneath the longitudinal member thanks for help

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around troubleshooting the air conditioning fan in a VW Passat B5. The user has replaced brushes, checked fuses and relays, and confirmed the pressure sensor is functional. They seek advice on bypassing resistors to test the fan's operation in the first gear, as it only activates in the second gear. Responses include suggestions for checking voltage at the fan's connector, identifying the location of resistors, and confirming the type of brushes needed for replacement. The user eventually finds the resistor and seeks clarification on the expected voltage outputs.
