    Hello all,
I have had the following problem in my car for several days - Passat B6 from 2006. Headlights - "normal" no xenon, no cornering lights. There was an indicator about a bulb burned out. The right headlight bulb actually fell - the low beam. I entered the station, bought a light bulb, exchanged a computer error all the time and the position light stopped working in this reflector. I went, I bought another bulb. I replaced - no passing, positional appeared. I bought a third bulb - I have high beam and low beam on H7 bulbs. I began to combine, translate, etc. By using only the light bulb spacers, I got to the state that all the lights were working, the error on the computer disappeared. This morning I'm going to the car, information on the computer - problem with the position light. I get out of the car - in fact - there is no positional. And now - I pulled the bulb out of the long light - low beam and positional works.
Has anyone had a similar problem? Is this a problem with the positional bulb? If so, maybe someone from experience will tell you how to get to it - I found some information - one that you can replace this bulb without disassembling half the car and can be pulled from the level of the open bonnet (but this was the case with xenon), the other that you need unscrew the cover on the wheels and there is a rubber plug that you need to remove and replace the bulb.
Or maybe something is generally going on with electrics? Maybe with a light switch?
I will add that I checked the fuses and they are not a problem.
Thanks in advance for the hints!
    best regards

This is to check the connector next to the lamp itself, maybe something has gone dark.

Hello, thanks for the answer - I have already done it. There is no sign of sleep, there is no sign of rust, but I prevented cleaning the contacts. This had no effect. I wonder that after replacing the bulbs in this reflector - the computer showed that I did not have a long light. I turned on positional, passing, long - the error disappeared and all the lights were on. This morning - long, passing, positional - no.

It looks like you would have a problem with the beam of this lamp, I understand that as soon as the bulb lights up, the error disappears?

    Added after 2 [minutes]:

It is possible that some damage in the lamp connector but from the inside.

Well, it is strange that when I take out a light bulb from a long light, then passing and positioning work. The information on the computer is then correct - the long light is not working. I will put a light bulb in a long one - there is still a long mistake. I turn on the lights - the error disappears - it's ok. In a moment I will turn on the lights again - the error from position and position is gone. Passing and long is.
When I turn on the position alone - it does not light in this headlight. I turn on halogens (halogen and positional lights on) - everything works except positional.
I checked the light switch - exchanged for another - the situation is still unchanged. As I mentioned earlier, I unbuttoned the headlamp - I checked if the wires did not come loose, if there was any dazzle somewhere, etc. - everything is ok. I checked if the voltage is being supplied - everything is ok.

You can still try to build a lamp system and directly connect to the installation connector, or reschedule the lamp for testing. You didn't have any LEDs there before?

I was also translating these bulbs to the second headlight and everything works as it should. All I have to check is to replace the positional bulb. It can cause such stupid behavior, but on the other hand, when I pull out a light bulb from a long light then the position appears. So the theory that the bulb from the position is "pounded" a little sticky, but who knows. I will try to replace it and see the effect. Another option - the one you mentioned - connect another reflector and check how it will be.
No, LEDs have never been here.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a 2006 Passat B6 experiencing erratic headlight behavior. The user initially faced a bulb failure in the right low beam, leading to multiple bulb replacements. Despite replacing the bulbs, the vehicle's computer continued to indicate issues with the position light. Various troubleshooting steps were taken, including checking connectors, cleaning contacts, and swapping bulbs between headlights. The user noted that removing the long light bulb allowed the position light to function, suggesting a potential issue with the bulb or connector. Suggestions included testing the lamp system directly and replacing the positional bulb to resolve the strange behavior.
