Hello, as in the subject, after inserting the key, no indicator lights on the dashboard ...
As I read in the forum, I bought a repair kit and replaced it in the steering column, and still after the exchange nothing reacts ...
I opened the ignition switch and a red LED is lit in it, but I found nothing more about the ignition switches on the Internet.
What would be so problematic about him that the key still does not respond
Thanks in advance for your reply

If this lock falls after inserting the key into the slot, one light will come on.
You don't light up, so long as the original key is not dead.
Installation first to check and key slot.

I've had it for over half a year and both keys don't respond
battery certainly matters, because I exchanged from another car and also no reaction ...
do you think the ignition should be checked? and if it is not the ignition, what would be another key ingredient in such a sudden failure?

It sounds strange but this type has it :-(
This lock on the gear you changed was original packed in an unpacked box? They are intended for firing only once to encode to ecu, the used one is not bet because it will not work, then it must be overtaken by the electronics.
    Review all masses and fuses.
In the engine compartment you have a box with fuses and relays.
There is one big transmitter with two wide feet.
Short them with each other, when the blower starts to work and some of the controls, give the car to the electronics, because you will only harm him more.
After external contacts, nothing will work, there is a problem somewhere with the power supply or mass.

Computer diagnostics and checking even without the key which modules speak in GATEWAY.
Does the car react when the door is opened?
    Do the lights work?
    Emergency ?
I shoot, but I think you get the module under the steering wheel, because I once had something similar

yes the car reacts to opening the door, the lights are on the radio plays, only with the brake applied and now it will not let go ....
I bought a used ignition switch and even it doesn't respond ...
the mechanic who was with me said that without ignition it won't work because it won't connect to the computer ....
what module are you talking about?

Look for another one because it's a pity to read. Used ignition, you can put it in Passat b3, not here.

Not all modules need ignition to diagnose them - it's true, find a better one. As for the ignition is just a key reader and you can translate from another car.
So it's not bad, m. Comfort and central electricity live

On its own, including the core, it does not turn on the power supply, moreover it can be diagnosed without a key. At least parameters can be seen if there is communication or a recognized key.

The easiest way is to VCDS or VCP and do a driver scan and see which ones match. The power supply after ignition is easy to start by putting it on the fuses of the terminal 15. Generally to check the Gateway power supply and whether it is OK, then the module under the steering wheel, the tester check if he sees the key in the ignition slot

And I have a question, does anyone know where the comfort module is located in the Passat b6?
modules only pop up on the net, not where they are located

    Behind the glove compartment.
This is a set with immo so there is no way to change unless the whole set.

I bought the comfort module itself, and wanted to replace it because of what I read and say to people that it can be a problem of a non-responsive ignition,
so you can't replace the comfort module itself?

There does not have to be a set in newer models, the set also has to be abs and next year there will probably be valves in the wheels in the set with immo ;-)
Return the car to the electronics, you lose only time and money and the car stands and loses its value.
Look also on the net are services where you can send ecu and do immo off but the problem is not known if you are holding immo because it should check the electronics and you can not do it online :-(

No information from computer diagnostics of controllers of their real parameters. No one will help here without this basic information, but this is not the way to such an unusual fault

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a 2006 Volkswagen Passat B6 2.0 TDI experiencing a complete lack of dashboard indicator lights upon key insertion. The user replaced the ignition switch and steering column components but still faced issues. Responses suggest checking the original key's battery, verifying the ignition switch's functionality, and ensuring proper connections and fuses. Some users recommend computer diagnostics to identify module communication issues, particularly with the comfort module located behind the glove compartment. The importance of using compatible parts and the potential need for ECU reprogramming are also highlighted.
