Hello, I am looking for a MAG welder for home needs. It will mainly weld thin automotive sheets, but also sometimes thick sheets, so it would be useful if it had 250A. I was only dealing with a bester welder, but I can't afford such a welder, except for 180A, but it's a bit too little. The amount that I can spend on the welding machine is about PLN 2,500. I am waiting for your suggestions ;)

For welding automotive metal sheets, it is rather a braze welding machine.
I used to struggle with what to buy. It is true that I do not weld car sheets, but some structures made of angles, thinner and thicker sheets, pipes in central heating installations.
I bought something like this: http://www.centrumspawalnicze.pl/spawarki-mig...o-cusi.html?&gclid=COirn97u2NQCFZmCsgodHRELog
I recommend it, because at this price it is really good equipment and has a braze welding function, useful for sheet metal work. Possibility to connect a reducer with a heater that heats the shielding gas. Euroconnector, thanks to which, if the cable or handle needs to be replaced, you buy a new one and plug it in.
Previously, I had a Bester 1801 welder, this Bester does not even match this Ideal. In the case of Bester, the heavy one is not only very sensitive to longer extension cords. If you had to weld something at the gate, the welding machine did not only weld a snot on a 20m 3x2.5mm2 extension cord.
With Ideal, you can see a drop in power, but you can weld normally.
As for braze welding, I do not know how it works in this Ideal, because I did not need to use this function.

If you are looking for a 250A welder, unfortunately you have to look for 400V welders. 200A is the maximum that can be obtained with 230V power supply and standard 16A socket protection. Although at a maximum welding current of 200A, it can disable the 16A protection, because the welder temporarily consumes up to 29A.
With this Ideal, I calmly welded elements with a thickness of 5-6 mm.
I also welded elements with a thickness of even 15-20mm, but I had to bevel them well and preheat them with a torch, and I put the weld in several layers.
