My problem appeared after replacing the battery, namely the BAS / ESP and ABS (orange) lights are constantly on. Everything was fine before the replacement.

What could have caused this and how to clear it?

turn on the ignition, start the engine and turn the steering wheel twice to the left and to the right until it stops and the lights go out

I had a similar problem with the Mercedes A160, when the ignition was turned off, the power steering motor was turned on and discharged the battery, after the diagnostics, the computer showed error C1504, deleting the error did not help. When the car was running, the bas / esp / abs lights were on. I started the car and turned the steering wheel twice to the left and twice to the right the lights went out, the support works properly. Finally, I have a question what caused this fault, weak battery, bad convergence or something else.

Hello. This fault was caused by a lack of voltage, too low voltage > 11V, but it's nothing dangerous. After each battery connection, you need to activate the steering angle sensor, code the radio, etc. Mercedes already has it. Error C 1504 says: system turned off no initiation of the steering angle sensor. Activate the steering angle sensor by turning the steering wheel to the left and to the right with the engine running

Do a computer diagnosis and it will come out what hurts him.

Topic summary

After replacing the battery in a Mercedes A-Class A170 CDI, the BAS, ESP, and ABS warning lights remained illuminated. A common solution suggested by users is to turn on the ignition, start the engine, and rotate the steering wheel twice to the left and right, which successfully resolved the issue for some. However, others reported that this method did not work. Potential causes for the lights staying on include low voltage (below 11V) and the need to activate the steering angle sensor post-battery replacement. Users also recommended performing a computer diagnosis to identify any underlying issues, especially if the initial troubleshooting steps fail.
