Hi,
I am trying to replace the chain in the oil pump in the 1.4 TDI engine. I am an amateur, but I have already done many things with the car, although it is the most difficult topic I will meet. I googled the topic and one thing puzzles me. I have to remove the timing belt for this operation, or if it has a mileage of 20-25 thousand, can I reinstall it? I guess so. However, I am mainly wondering if I block the timing, I will have to unscrew the crankshaft gear. So, what is the best way to protect yourself so that this shaft does not shift? I found information somewhere on the forum that when the bowl is removed, it can be blocked with a wooden block? Or block somewhere on the flywheel side? Unless I can mark the shaft and if it changes, it can be properly adjusted? I would be grateful for help.
best regards
Luke
