    Hello
I have a problem with the oil pump seal. When replacing the timing, the mechanic noticed sweating oil pump seal in the zafira 1.8 16V. The car is less than 200,000, I have it from new. Unfortunately we have already tried 3 different sealants and still have a leak. The leak is on the camshaft side. I am asking for advice on what the problem is. Should the pump need to be replaced, is it over-pressurized, or has the camshaft been damaged? The sealants were from three different companies.

What is the condition of the crankshaft where the seal is installed?

I mean? to be honest, I don't know anything about it, we have no idea for this leak ... the shaft looks fine

It is possible that the groove on the journal is worn and none of them will seal any more.

Would you be able to show any sample photo explaining this defect? can something like this happen with this mileage? The car is 17 years old and its mileage is low.

I am back to the topic. We've already tried 4 different sealants and nothing continues.

Can the oil pump give out too high pressure? When the car is idling after replacement, even an hour is not seeping. Only after driving for a long time does a strong leak appear. The roller looks ok.

I read that it is possible to install a smaller sealant in some cars, does anyone know if it is possible for this model?

You can shorten the spring on the seal, but first check the condition of the shaft in the place where the seal works.

And the sealant is correct? They are left-handed and right-handed, a common mistake when bought to size, not part numbers.
One will scrape the oil into the engine, the other will scrub it outside. To the pump, there should be no problem with that, usually they should turn clockwise, but :?:
At the bottom http://kestor.pl/web.n4?go=46 you have "ejectors".

If it only looks, you can not finish it in the old place, but leave it to slide on the new, 100% unwashed one.
Are you sure you are simmering? Not a gasket under the pump?
Someone is fighting here too Link
Shaft does not move sometimes? Still someone about the bushings in 2.0, and it's probably a twin.
http://patrykstal.pl/regeneracja-biezni-uszczelni/ A small example, visible damage, you can have smaller, shinier, but with a narrowing, reduced diameter in the place where the sealant works.

That that ? Perhaps this is an unfortunate detail.

Soon. Either I don't understand something or I don't really see the connection between the oil pump and the camshaft. Where exactly is leaking

Second sealant purchased. That one had to be sloppyly put on, everything was fine after wearing it.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a persistent oil pump seal leak on the camshaft side of a Zafira I 1.8 16V, despite multiple attempts with different sealants. The user reports that the car, which has less than 200,000 km and is 17 years old, continues to leak oil after driving for extended periods. Responses suggest checking the condition of the crankshaft and the possibility of wear on the journal groove, which could prevent proper sealing. There are also considerations regarding the oil pump's pressure and the potential for using a smaller seal. The importance of using the correct sealant type is emphasized, as incorrect installation can lead to further issues.
