After updating the system around June 23-24 2017, the sound under Windows 10 Pro x64 does not play properly. I have an external Sound Blaster Z card, the card integrated in the BIOS is disabled.

Immediately after this update, the system stopped detecting my speakers and headphones, there was simply no sound. I have reinstalled the sound card drivers cleanly, the sound is distorted. In the Sound Blaster Z control panel you can set bass, for example, and they do not work properly. When I turn off bass playback, they are. When I enable and set their value, they are weaker than when this option is turned off at all.

The Windows Audio Troubleshooter detects a problem with the "Generic Audio Driver". Even when it is resolved, the problem still occurs. I install and uninstall HDMI audio drivers for the Radeon R9 390 card. The problem persists. Whatever I do, the sound is still distorted. I have the latest original drivers for the sound card, graphic card, all Windows updates. The problem suddenly appeared after the Windows 10 June update and is still holding. Microsoft sends me to Creative, the card manufacturer, Creative for Windows. It's obvious Microsoft's fault, because after Anniversary Update I had a similar problem. I don't remember how I fixed it. But everything worked well until this June 2017.

Is there any hope of fixing the problem yourself? Naturally, I wrote a suggestion to Microsoft to take care of the problem, maybe another big update will fix something, and for now, maybe you have any suggestions?

I don't know if it will help, but you can try:
    (0) scan the system with programs suggested on the Antivirus Emergency Service in this forum, and then with some decent optimizer (removing garbage and errors), e.g. CCleaner (my favorite is jv16tools, but I don't know if it still exists),
    (1) uninstall the current driver and let the operating system install the driver that it finds itself,
    (2) try to manually uninstall the current driver and try to manually install older versions of the drivers - if the manufacturer has created one compatible with your operating system.
If this is a very big problem then you can try:
    (3) uninstall the Windows updates after which problems occurred and at least wait for them to be installed.
    (4) Another option is to go to the built-in card and count on the problem to be resolved in some time (subsequent Windows updates, subsequent versions of the driver for the sound card). At least check that there is no problem on another sound card.

    Hi thanks!

The problem occurs on both sound cards, I included in the built-in trial.

    Tips from the forums:
    (1) If the Realtek card can be turned off Dolby Digital Plus effects or converted to DFX (https://superuser.com/questions/958121/realtek-hd-audio-low-and-bad-quality-sound-after-windows -10-upgrade).
    (2) A second tip from the same forum is to enable loudness equalization.
    (3) Another tip is to turn off DTS.
    (4) Change the sound quality to CD or DVD.
    (5) For SoundBlaster:
"IF you have a SOUND BLASTER zxr Series sound card. The software. You have to go into the Menu. Un-check the highlighted menus in the picture below. Surround / Crystalizer / Dialog Plus (disable / uncheck) Hopefully Sblaster gets an update . "
In the menu UNHAKE UP Surroud / Crystalizer / Dialog Plus. (Https://i.stack.imgur.com/sZAWx.jpg)
    (6) As if that didn't help, they recommend trying older drivers from 2015 (http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/SOUND-CARD/REALTEK/Realtek-HD-Audio-Driver-6017786.shtml). There is a driver rollback option on the SoundBlaster card that does it.
