Hello, I am the owner of the Galmet Neptun Kombi DHW exchanger with electronic control.
I can't heat the water for some time, the exchanger starts up, then turns off after a second and so non-stop, sometimes after a few resets it will work and heat the water, but it happens sporadically. After pressing + and - on the temperature controller, it shows error E3, i.e. according to the instructions
    Quote:
    5.2. Thermal switch
The thermal switch is an independent protection with a separate temperature sensor which, in the event of a thermostat failure and heating the water to 85 ° C (+- 3 ° C), cuts the power to the heater at both poles. after the thermal switch is triggered, the error code E3 flashes on the display and all the thermostat functions are inactive.
    5.3. Resetting the thermal switch
The thermal switch is non-triple, it means that after activation (turning off the heater) it requires user intervention to restore it to the previous state. After the thermal switch has tripped, disconnect the device from the mains for at least 5 seconds and then reconnect the power supply. if the temperature has dropped below 85 ° C, the thermostat will return to normal operation

Unfortunately, the attempt to "Reset the thermal switch" has no effect.
I also recorded a short video of how it looks in practice

I unscrewed the electronic controller from the exchanger. What does the thermal switch look like in this model, where to look for it? Or maybe you know a different solution to the problem?

    Bad photos.
First, to check the electronics power supply, i.e. (probably) the big yellow capacitor.

I took new photos, unfortunately the quality is not amazing but I do not have access to a good camera at the moment

Has it been repaired? If so, what was the cause?

On the panel you have a four-pin jumper to which a black wire is probably plugged in, it enters the boiler there you have a thermal switch, you need to pull it out. Probably it is failing.

It was the same for me. Error E3. It turned out that this yellow capacitor is out of order. Everything works fine after replacement.

Could someone help with a description (or photo) of the cable connections to these jumpers? I have the board so messed up that even the descriptions can't be seen.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around issues with the Galmet Neptun Kombi DHW heat exchanger, specifically an E3 error and problems with the thermal switch. The owner reports intermittent heating functionality, with the unit starting and stopping rapidly. Suggestions from other users include checking the power supply, particularly the yellow capacitor, which has been identified as a common failure point. Additionally, guidance is provided on locating and potentially replacing the thermal switch connected to a four-pin jumper on the control panel. Users share their experiences, indicating that replacing the faulty capacitor resolved similar issues.
