    Hi,
while driving the error "transmission failure" appeared and a snowflake appeared on the meter near the gear indicator.
As it turned out later, the problem is only with 4th gear, if I turn off the car (automatic gearshift) and change gears manually quickly enough, I am able to put in 5th gear without error (bypassing 4th gear).
At the moment, I disconnected the battery for a long time, cleaned the contacts, lubricated the actuator at the connection point with the gearbox, but it did not help.
Have any of you had a similar problem? thank you for any tips.

The steps you described are like lubricating a sore tooth with toothpaste. You need to go to a specialist, find a good service and clench your teeth so that they do not hurt after quoting the cost of repair.

Dude, did you deal with this problem? I have the same symptom. I don't want to engage 4th gear.

    Hi,
One day I raised the front axle, started the engine and put the gears in order. I noticed that the actuator repeatedly tries to engage the 4th gear and then issues a gearbox error. Later I did such an experiment, when the actuator threw the 4th gear quickly turned off the ignition, it turned out that the gear was physically engaged. From this I conclude that some actuator position sensor does not send the correct information to the controller that the gear has already been switched on and is making further attempts.
The best part is that when I dropped the car the breakdown did not appear (for 3 months) I suspect it is a matter of time when it appears again.

    Hi,
Apart from the activities that I described a few years ago, I did nothing and the fault has not appeared (several years).

In the wife's car, this is done in reverse and the best thing is that the reverse lights up so it will physically surprise and turn off 4 times anyway. Today connection to KTS.
Thank you for your answer. Kind regards.

I bet on the gear lever position sensor in the gearbox, since the gear is physically engaged and the computer tries to put it in again.

I have a similar problem. The car is the same, the gearbox is automated. But in my case, the car put the car in neutral while driving, displayed a message about a gearbox failure and a snowflake next to the letter "N: in gear and ... that's it. There's nothing more than it can do. Any suggestions from experienced colleagues?

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a transmission failure issue in the Peugeot 1007, specifically related to the 2-Tronic transmission and its inability to engage 4th gear, indicated by a "transmission failure" message and a snowflake icon on the dashboard. Users shared experiences of similar symptoms, including the actuator's repeated attempts to engage 4th gear and subsequent gearbox errors. Some suggested that the problem might stem from a faulty gear lever position sensor, which fails to communicate the correct gear status to the control unit. Various troubleshooting steps were discussed, including disconnecting the battery, cleaning contacts, and lubricating the actuator, but results varied. One user noted that the issue temporarily resolved itself for several months after a specific test, while others continued to seek solutions for their ongoing problems.
