    Hello,
    I have recently traveled through Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is not in the EU. I got a bill for 1000 PLN. After analysis sent by the mobile network, it turned out that for 4 minutes of using the Internet, I downloaded about 28,000 KB. Is it possible for me to download so much for such a short time? :|

    This is not a problem with LTE transmission.

    Yes possible
    roaming outside the EU, free American.

    let's assume 1 Eur / MB => 150 E * 4pln / E => 450pln

    at 2 Euro / MB you have 1000 PLN

    And in Poland, is there sometimes an automatically set upper ceiling for using the Internet abroad at the level of 50 Euro? This should probably be set by default by the operator.

    Provide sources for this statement other than heard.

    Simple division 28,000: 240 = 116, (6) - only. This is a speed below 1 Mb / s.

    This can be achieved easily by browsing the pages on which a video will be launched, but also typical pages are 1-3 MB. However, there is a lot bigger, e.g. checking account on Play24 used to take 15 MB! For what? In real terms it was from 1 MB + 14 MB for some unnecessary flash. So your 28 MB is nothing.

    I checked the T-Mobile price list from 2016. For each 100kB they counted (in Bosnia and Herzegovina of course) PLN 4.03. So such a bill is possible.

    It depends on the speed. It doesn't change anything.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a user's unexpectedly high mobile internet bill of 1000 PLN incurred while using data in Bosnia and Herzegovina, a non-EU country. The user downloaded approximately 28,000 KB in just 4 minutes, raising questions about the feasibility of such data consumption in a short time frame. Responses indicate that high data usage is plausible, especially with roaming charges outside the EU, where costs can reach up to 2 Euro per MB. Users also mention that certain mobile operators may impose automatic spending caps for data usage abroad. The conversation highlights the importance of understanding roaming charges and data consumption rates, particularly in non-EU regions.
