    Hello

I have a problem with the electricity bill, or rather with the compensation for 6 months, for several years the average electricity bill has been around PLN 350, with the compensation there have been several zlotys of overpayments or underpayments, always according to the forecasts were accurate. In April, I had a new meter installed, 2 days ago I was compensated for the previous 6 months, I have almost PLN 2,000 to pay extra ... In the meantime, I only changed the refrigerator, the old Gorenje with 2 aggregates to a new one, economical with one aggregate. It is also strange that the forecasts for the next six months did not take into account any increases in electricity consumption, the forecasts are around PLN 350 per month. I checked the meter and it shows about 4500kwh consumed from the installation, which in my opinion is unrealistic (in those 3 and a half months from the calculations I could use up to 2000kwh).
What's going on, what about these meters?

If it is an electronic meter with a display, I know a case that it was replaced several times during the year due to faulty readings. The easiest way to check it is by turning on, for example, a fan of known power for an hour and turning off all other receivers for the duration of the test. Checking should be enough, as it may not turn out that the new meter correctly calculates the energy consumption.

Got a meter replacement protocol? There are indications of the old and new meter. It is possible that the new meter is verified with a non-zero state, and the fitter entered zero.
Also check on the invoice whether the last state correlates with the current state of the meter - sometimes one "typo" of any initial digit is enough and the invoice (generated automatically) is for astronomical amounts.
The display may also be damaged - it incorrectly displays one digit and the effect is the same. There is no problem with this, because the correct indications are embedded in internal registers and the supplier's or manufacturer's staff can extract them.

Anyway, through the Forum we will not help, advertise this invoice to the supplier. Checking the meter at your place, verification of readings, etc. is free of charge.
Only if you decide to take the meter for a laboratory test, and it does not show any irregularities - you will pay a few coins.

Unfortunately it is possible. I know of many more cases of underestimating the consumption of an old meter than overstating a new one.

OK problem solved ... The heater from the boiler was heating the central heating from the end of the heating season, this was due to the fact that the pump at the stove was not turned off and was circulating all the time (during the heating season, the water is heated from the boiler), causing practically 24 / 7 2kwh consumption by the heater .. As the equalization comes once every 6 months, nobody in the household realized that something is wrong, as it should be.
