I know from earlier entries that the problem with opening the trunk or actually the inability to open it is a broken cylinder in the lock or lock to replace. However, I did not see advice how to get to this lock to replace it? Can you somehow manually unlock this lock to open the hatch? Anyone dump the way?

Well, but how to remove the interior upholstery if the lid cannot be opened?

When you enter with a flashlight, you will find 2 screws and the rest with snaps, if you remove the plastic, you can easily open the flap and see what is wrong.

Hi, unfortunately it is not true, in Seat Altea XL it is impossible to remove the upholstery without opening the flap, but the "gutter" can be reached through a specially made gap, just above the castle (photo attached).
We drive a screwdriver (or something similar) deep into the right side and move it to the left. Then from the hill: we unscrew two visible screws and two hidden under the flaps to the lights. We remove the upholstery from the latches and start having fun analyzing the problem.
For me it was clearly a poorly fastened beam, so it was done without additional costs (stupid is lucky).
