Exactly how @ bubu1769 it showed, you mount it on a phase wire, just like you mount a switch ;)

Does connecting "zero" to the dimmer threaten to damage the dimmer?
I am asking, because the dimmer is on the cable, and the plug can be inserted into the socket once one side and the other, and then the phase wire will become zero.

I ask, because recently such (or almost identical) dimmer has died, something probably burned, and the bulb was only 60W.

    Nothing is forever ...
Connect it boldly - no matter whether it is a phase or neutral conductor - it must work ... Until something breaks, but you have no influence on it: Nowadays, every equipment is to work until the end of the warranty - if it works longer, it is poorly designed ... ;)

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the wiring and setup of the OR-AE-1393 dimmer. The original poster seeks assistance with connecting the dimmer, particularly regarding the implications of connecting the "zero" wire. Responses indicate that the dimmer can be connected to either the phase or neutral wire without risk of damage, as it is designed to function in both configurations. Concerns are raised about a previous dimmer failure, but participants reassure that the current model should operate correctly regardless of the wire orientation. Overall, the consensus is to proceed with the connection confidently, as modern equipment is expected to function reliably within warranty periods.
