    Hardware:
    Fibaro Single Switch 2

    Problem:
The switch will not be mounted in the flush-mounted box, but directly at the night light button. When the plug is turned and plugged into the socket the other way round, the neutral cable will swap places with the phase cable. Will the switch then work properly or will it be damaged? .

Did the manufacturer mark the L and N terminals?
    He did.
So by doing so, he has ruled out connection by socket and plug.

That this is against the will of the manufacturer is obvious, as well as the fact that, in the event of possible damage, the manufacturer will not want to take responsibility for my mistake. However, the question is different: will it work or not ?

Ask the manufacturer, or check empirically.
After all, these markings were put in place for a purpose.

I have the impression that you think that the whole responsibility of such an action is the loss of the module or the warranty on that module, and the consequences can be much more serious.

For sure the module will not work as it should, the module has inputs to which you have to give L, so for sure these inputs will not work properly as L will be once on one wire once on the other.
The second thing is that the module, when switching off the device it controls, is supposed to cut off L and not N, how do you want to do that when you don't know on which wire you have L and on which N?

You can either place the module in the box behind the socket, as intended by the manufacturer, or purchase the Fibaro Wall Plug module.

Unfortunately, neither putting the module in the box nor the Wall Plug is an option. I have found a better solution - the Z-Wave SwiidInter Cord Switch. The only problem is that it is impossible to buy this anywhere. All stocks are sold out, and there is no telling when a new supply will arrive. If you know of any alternatives to this solution, I'd love to hear from you.
