I'm getting annoyed to run defrag every Monday week.
Tell me how to turn it off the car, but not to remove it completely, unless you can not otherwise. I followed most of the tips from the net and nothing helps, it grinds every week and grinds. I wasn't messing with the system registry.

Use one of the methods proposed on the Internet, e.g. Link
and restart the computer (system) :!:

I don't know what to do anymore to turn the damn thing off. Buddy Prot, unfortunately, did not work.

I don't know about the W10, but there is a "Disk Defragmenter" service in the W7. Just disable in Services (services.msc).
Additionally, it is worth taking a look at the Task Schedule and turning off Bill Gates "ideas" for optimization and other senseless "diagnostics" and gymnastics "at 1:00 am on Sunday".

There is no such service in the Home edition of Windows 10 :not:

IMHO you need to uninstall that "Disk Defragmenter Module" that it probably triggers this tiresome service :cunning: , and rather redundant for a modern computer.

Maybe it can not be turned off, but as the bull "stands": "Service host: defragmenter ...".
I advise you to check the schedule (large coffee and 1 hour of removing tasks). ;)

Unfortunately, defrag continues to make the disk tired.
Defrag is completely removed from Task Scheduler, and it kicks in anyway.
    Help
It can remove defrag completely (how do you remove it?), As long as the system doesn't restore it.

That's why I mentioned coffee because there are more folders on the schedule than just "Defrag".
Now I don't remember, but I can assume that defrag can "sit" in other folders as well.

    Added after 2 [minutes]:

I do not have much contact with the W10, but from what I read defrag has passed into a more extensive Storage Optimizer, so defrag may be stuck to it and "meatball".

Proposes to use the method by turning off optimization

Disk properties, utilities, optimize, change settings and "fake" running according to the schedule or at least change the frequency of this defragmentation :D

After all, you gave the same thing in the link in # 2. It's not about reducing the frequency. We want to turn off completely - according to the topic.

In the link in # 2 they are even listed three ways disabling auto-defragmentation - found these tips and didn't even read through them - sorry :please:

The second post was made through my research on a Windows 10 laptop - I was under the illusion that "I discovered America"
