    I am having trouble playing videos in VLC media player. When playing a movie after about 10 minutes, VLC turns itself off and the monitor goes into "sleep mode" - black screen. One click of the mouse allows you to turn on the screen and return to the desktop. I scanned the computer with several programs for viruses / malware, however, the scans showed nothing. I was looking in the program settings to see if after some time it would not turn off itself - I found nothing. In addition, I will add that the monitor is set to sleep for 1 hour. This does not happen in games or in watching YouTube videos. Even if I leave the computer alone, it takes an hour to turn off the screen (as it is set in the system). I don't remember exactly if there was any VLC update recently - maybe it's dirty. Can someone help me solve the problem?

    VLC media player version (latest): 2.2.6 Umbrella
    System: Windows 10
    CPU: i5 6600k @ 4.6 GHz
    GPU: GTX 1060 6G
    MOBO: Asus Maximus VIII Ranger
    RAM: 16 GB (2x8GB) Corsair Vengeance LPX @ 3200 MHz Cl15
    ROM: SSD NVMe Samsung SM951 128GB, SSD SATA Goodram Iridium Pro 240 GB, HDD Seagate 2 TB, HDD WD 500 GB.

    Start by reinstalling the program. After uninstalling, clean the registries, eg CCleaner and then install again. I would still check on other graphics drivers.

    Preferences-> Image-> Enable Screen Saver.

    Does this happen with every movie? Any effects on?
    It looks to me rather like the instability of the graphics card.
    The power supply kit does not have? Enter model and brand.

    I did as Tom2666 wrote - VLC does not turn off anymore and does not put my monitor to sleep.

    That I did not write either the power supply ... BeQuiet Puer Power L8 730W.
    This happens with every video / there are no effects enabled / VLC settings are default
    I would like to add that I did not overclock the graphics card (it is overclocked by the manufacturer) the Gigabyte GTX 1060 Xtreme Gaming model. Only that nothing crashes me in any game ... I mean there were problems with Crossout but it's the game update's fault because it is in the beta phase - after some update the game stopped crashing to my desktop. Eg The Witcher 3 can run for a good few hours without HairWorks at maximum settings and nothing bad happens.
    The graphics card is the newest component of this PC, while the power supply is the oldest. I have graphics from half a year and the power supply from 4 years.

    Thanks for your help anyway.
