I have a serious keyboard instrument whose old FDD floppy disk drive has been replaced with an emulator with a USB port. The USB stick must be formatted into 100 partitions with a size of 1.4MB (diskette size 3.5 "), selecting a specific number in the emulator on the digital display as if loading one of a hundred diskettes.
    I am looking for:
    - a program that will automatically format my "pena" for such partitions in the appropriate file format as floppy disks characterized, and:
    - a program that will be a file manager that allows you to make changes to any partition (copying files, deleting etc.), because such a "sliced whistle" partitions are unfortunately not seen on the computer.
It's best if both of these functions could be done by one applet.
I found myself practically all day and found nothing wise.
Maybe there is a musician or a familiar keyboard instrumentalist who will help me?
    Regards.

It would be very nice :)
Can he format to the above form and at the same time explore the partitions created in this way?

I will patiently wait for my colleague @ mariuszp19, because the files from the link given above scream in my antivirus program, and this one immediately deletes them.

I have no idea, I haven't tried it. I got a program with the emulator and I use it. So far he's doing well, so I'm not looking for anything else. But out of curiosity I will test it.

I downloaded and it works. There is only one problem for China, I can't change "floppy disks" and freely save files in any file manager. Only FLOPPY0 is still active. In this program that I have, I switch to floppy disks freely and I can save files on them in any manager. Probably it is possible and here, if you have any tips, I will gladly use it.

    I downloaded this applet (USB_Floppy_Manager_v140i)
http://www.ipcas.com/download/products/usb-floppy/usb-floppy-emulator-tool-v1.40i.zip " target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener ugc" class="postlink inline" title="" > http://www.ipcas.com/download/products/usb-floppy/usb-floppy-emulator-tool-v1.40i.zip , it's very cool and simple, formats "pena" automatically with the selected diskette type.
When entering my computer, but in this program, there is only one disk called Floppy, but it already has a hundred directories from 00 - to 99. Folders have a characteristic floppy icon and open like typical Windows windows. Here, nothing else, just paste, copy, remove, etc.
    Now the most important:
    - you must not exceed 1.39 MB, because after loading say, diskettes 05, you need to select position 05 in the program and press the Download floppy disk boot icon at the top, only then the files will load on our diskette 05, and if there are too many of them, the program will communicate that something should be removed because we are exceeding 1.39 (for 1.4 diskettes).
Everything works, unfortunately such a pen is not seen by Windows, but it works great on the instrument.
I also know for sure that there are many types of emulators and the program is not compatible with some, they must have a different, own application to use.
    Regards

I have a new, different floppy emulator that supports a pen divided not in 100, but in 1000 partitions, to manage such a divided pen is another program is not suitable for this described in this post. If anyone needs the program mentioned here, please e-mail me, I will attach it to the answer along with a description of the service.

If this is still up-to-date and the program works on Windows 10, I would like to ask.

Today, the best emulator is probably Gotek with FF (Flash Floppy) firmware, but I don't know if it would work with the keyboard - probably yes, but you need to configure it with jumpers:

ATTENTION! From April this year, Gotek emulators with a new processor appeared on sale and there you probably need a different version of Flash Floppy and different settings:
    Roland and Gotek samplers
Gotek with the new Artery AT32F415 chip
It seems that as of today there is a new version of Flash Floppy supporting the new Gotek models

    >>16736837 I have the emulator installed in a Yamaha 1000, works fine and much faster than the floppy drive. There's a problem, I've replaced the Windows and running software on the PC, the original disc hits, it cuts in too. The softy from the internet is a fake. If you could send your tested soft, that would be ok, my email: pensjnat3(_at_)gmail.com

    >>21369935 I downloaded the Floppy EmulatorUSB_Floppy_ManagerII_V1.31T software, unfortunately it doesn't work properly. It divides pen into 100 partitions, unfortunately it doesn't want to write MIDI file on them. Sometimes it will write, but not always, it muddles.

Topic summary

The discussion centers on using a floppy disk drive (FDD) emulator with USB support for a serious keyboard instrument, requiring the USB stick to be partitioned into 100 segments of 1.4MB each, mimicking 3.5" floppy disks. The main challenges include finding software that can automatically format the USB drive into these partitions with the correct floppy disk file system and a file manager capable of accessing, modifying, copying, and deleting files within each partition, as standard OS tools do not recognize these segmented partitions. Several software tools were mentioned: the USB_Floppy_Manager_v140i applet formats the USB stick into one partition containing 100 folders representing floppy disks, allowing file operations within size limits (max ~1.39MB per folder) and requires manual loading of partitions via the emulator interface. Another program from ipcas.com was suggested but flagged by antivirus software. Users reported that the software bundled with their emulators works reliably, allowing floppy disk switching and file management, unlike some internet downloads. The Gotek floppy emulator with FlashFloppy firmware was recommended as a modern alternative, though it requires configuration and may or may not be compatible with the keyboard instrument. Some users shared experiences with Yamaha 1000 keyboard emulators, noting difficulties with third-party software and the superiority of original or bundled software solutions. A newer emulator supporting up to 1000 partitions was also mentioned, requiring different management software. Overall, the consensus favors using manufacturer-provided or tested software for formatting and managing USB sticks partitioned as floppy disks for keyboard instrument emulators.
