    Hello,
Toyota Yaris 1.0 from 1999. Someone from which the controller can see the idle signal will tell me. It should probably see from TPS, but it is still OFF and the sensor works by checking the opening angle. From what the owner said, it sometimes lights up and after a while it goes out, except when it runs at low speed and some receivers (lights or fan) are turned on, the speed drops and does not raise. Pulled out the dampers, cleaned the IAC valve. The valve, after firing on the cold, shows about 50% and when the engine warms up, it goes down to 27%.

Do you have the option to replace IAC?

They brought me a second throttle from scrap and everything was fine, of course, after dismantling and cleaning the IAC, because without dismantling it kept the idle speed around 1300.

The engine sees RPM from the shaft sensor.

Sure, just a little off topic.

It is about what data the controller opens the idle valve on?

The idea was that when viewing live parameters, IDLE SPEED was OFF and it should be ON. As I wrote, he should rather see with TPS, at least after replacing the throttle OK.

That's it, it should read from the throttle angle. In any case, a damaged position sensor gives such symptoms, but in some cars it boosts the iddle valve anyway when the revs drop below, say, 500 or 400. In the Yaris, it will probably stifle it sooner because it has 600 rpm on a hot engine.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around idle issues in a 1999 Toyota Yaris 1.0, specifically concerning the throttle position sensor (TPS) and idle air control (IAC) valve. The user reports that the idle signal is intermittently off, with the IAC valve showing a 50% opening when cold and dropping to 27% when warm. Responses suggest checking the IAC valve's functionality, with one user noting success after replacing the throttle body and cleaning the IAC. It is emphasized that the engine RPM is detected via the shaft sensor, and a malfunctioning position sensor could lead to the described symptoms, particularly affecting idle speed when electrical loads are applied.
