Hi,
Yesterday, after a long wait, I finally decided to dust the cameras on the iPhone 5s - I started to do everything, probably watching 10 different YouTube videos on how to do it. I opened the phone elegantly and gently, starting from the bottom and detaching the tape from TouchID and then unscrewing the metal plate and detaching 3 more tapes from the connectors. I was doing everything gently and with sensitivity.
I cleaned the rear camera and then started on the more dusty one above the speaker. It wasn't as easy here as in the back but somehow I managed. I cleaned it with a dry ear stick and blew it with compressed air.
After this procedure, I folded everything sensibly again and twisted.
There was no option to break anything - and yet the front camera would not work: /
The rear camera works normally, but when I switch to the front I have a black screen and I can't even take a "black" photo: / I also checked in other applications that use cameras but I can't even switch to the front there ...
I checked all the settings. In Settings / Privacy / Camera turned off everything and after reboot the phone continued July.
I was stupid that I didn't check directly before the whole repair whether it worked, but a few days ago - max week - it certainly worked. Since then, I have definitely made the last system update to iOS 11.0.3.
The loudspeaker works, the Sensor that recognizes holding the phone to the ear also works.
I turned on the phone again to see if any of the pins in the connector broke. Everything looks intact without a microscope or a magnifying glass.
Could the problem start after I sprayed the camera directly with air? Or is it software fault?
Is such an adhesive tape that holds the entire tape with the front camera glued to the screen at all important? Because mine now looks like the one in the picture - it is a little bit crushed.
If anyone has any idea I will be very grateful for any hints what could happen and how to fix it.
Thank you in advance,
KM
