[Solved] Sony PC Companion - The program does not want to update, so it does not start

I replaced the system disk with a new one today, installed the system and all the software. Everything went smoothly, but there was the only problem with the Sony PC Companion program, which I use to synchronize contacts and calendar between the Xperia T smartphone and MS Outlook 2007. This function is necessary because I do this synchronization on average once a week. The installation of this program has completed successfully. At the time of launching, a message appears stating that you must update to the latest version to use the program:

You can't do anything. All you can do is press the Finish button.
I uninstalled and reinstalled - the same effect. It looks like there was a problem connecting to the update server.
Can anyone help? Reinstalling the system, software and configuration took 7 hours today, so I would not want to repeat this process just because of this small program ...

Sony PC Companion has been replaced by Xperia Companion and therefore cannot download the update because it cannot connect to the server from which it could download the update file. Before installing a new system, PC companion always moves to properly described folders and then restores to places. What sony pc companion version number is installed? The latest version is Sony PC Companion 2.10.303.

On the Internet you can find two installation versions for download:
1) 2.10.297
2) 4.1.100.1332
Both cannot be updated after installation.

Yesterday I received the answer that they are sorry, but Sony PC Companion is no longer supported by the company, because the program was replaced by Xperia Companion. However, I found a solution because I had to manage somehow. Namely, you need to export all contacts from Outlook to a .CSV file. Then import this file into contacts on your Gmail page in your Google account. Then just turn on the Internet on your phone and the contacts between Gmail and the phone will synchronize themselves. The only disadvantage of this solution is that the CSV file is a text file, so it does not transfer photos of people we have assigned to contacts.

How do you save the Sony PC Companion program folders - which ones exactly? On this previous disk I have everything that was installed on it, i.e. the system and software. Maybe Sony PC Companion could be transferred from this disk. I have it connected to the computer via a USB port using a SATA / USB adapter.
Although I am afraid that it will not be possible for me, because I installed and uninstalled this program several times before, so the trace in the registry and system files has remained. Such a procedure you write about makes sense on a freshly installed system.

Can you provide a list of exactly what you are copying, what Sony PC Companion folders when you reinstall the system? If not this time, it may be useful to me the next time I reinstall the system.

So I installed this version 2.10.303. Before the program update screen appeared, I copied the Sony folder from the previous disk and placed it in the location you provided. I connected the phone. The program did not display the update window. So I started the phone synchronization with Outlook. Sorry, there was a sync error message. So I closed the program and started it again. I have started synchronization that was successful!
Now every time you reinstall the system I will backup the Sony folder with the settings beforehand to be able to substitute it later.

It's been a while since I used Sony PC Companion, as it's simpler to do an export of contacts to a file from within Outlook, save it to my computer's hard drive, then go into my mailbox on Gmail, go to contacts and import the previously saved file. When you turn on the internet on your smartphone, your phone's contacts will automatically sync with your Gmail contacts. I do this systematically every week or two and everything works. .
