    Hello

I am standing in front of buying a monitoring system for a single-family house. I have identified the needs:
    - budget 2-3 thousand
    - monitoring of a single-family house
    - four cameras
    - max distance 20m
    - color cameras also for night viewing
    - recording time - I do not know, at most I will put a larger disk :D
    - access to recorded material; remote and local
    - detail (face recognition, license plates, silhouettes, general view)
    - a photo or drawing of the area to be monitored - I will not do this because it is not yet precisely established

I am asking for help in the selection of equipment and advice on what to pay attention to.

The basic question - what budget? A recommendable, cheap and well-functioning set of 4 FullHD cameras with a disc and a recorder costs ~ 1500.

Hello, I recommend the HIKVISION DS-2CD1121-I 2mpx camera, price for 1 pc. about PLN 250
for this recorder BCS-NVR08015ME-II IP 8CH up to 8MPx price about 460 PLN.
It is better to pay extra and take a recorder for 8 channels, in the event of expansion you will not need to replace the recorder. The question of the internet remains. In the case of mobile internet only T-Mobile, it gives a good device and there is no problem with a fixed IP address. I have personally worked on this topic.

It is not about taking cheap but also not for 10,000. 1500 is a price that is not excessive.
There will be 4 cameras there because more does not make sense.

What I wrote earlier was about TurboHD cameras - on converters. Relatively cheap solution with a good image. Do you want a standard system with converters or rather IP?
If from the IP system is the DS-7604NI-K1 recorder. The cameras are the cheapest and good DS-2CD1021-I or more expensive and with better parameters DS-2CD2T22WD-I3. When it comes to the domes, the one that my colleague wrote about above, i.e. DS-2CD1121-I or DS-2CD2120F-I.
    Z TurboHD is the DS-7104HQHI-F1 / N or DS-7204HQHI-F1 / N / A recorder (4HD + 1 IP camera). The domes are DS-2CE56D8T-ITM, and the bullets are DS-2CE16D8T-IT, DS-2CE16D8T-IT3 or DS-2CE16D7T-IT3.

When selecting, the following questions are important:

    1. The cameras will be on the soffit or beheaded?
    2. Color of the cameras?
    3. The building is already finished or at the construction stage what can you put the cable
    RG6 / RG59 or twisted pair?

I recently launched on Plus with an external dynamic IP and it also works OK.

I do not know what will be better but IP cameras probably.

The cameras will be on the wall. The color doesn't seem to matter :D The building is finished and the cables have to be pulled "somehow". I didn't wonder how because that's the smallest problem.

A good solution is to use gutters, you can practically not see the cabling, gelled twisted pair and the operation is basically guaranteed while maintaining the maximum lengths.

Equipment baskets from the recent valuation about 3000 PLN and in the set
4 cameras with ir 20m (also illuminated by nearby lamps)
    Recorder
    2TB disk
    Switch with poe
    Equipment box
    300 m skretch, rj45
    On hikvision hardware.

More like PLN 2,000. I do not know where you buy, but you can buy one camera for about PLN 250 with a recorder below 5 hundred dollars.
Twisted pair is PLN 1 / m. Up to 100m will come out there.
I don't know which disk I will buy, but the price is influenced by the capacity.
