Hello, I don't know if someone will be here to advise me, but the matter is as follows. I have a Vectra B 1.8 16v x18xe. Recently, one of the satellites in the differential has broken down, so it was most reasonable to replace the gearbox. After the whole exchange, I have a problem because during normal driving, without full turns, on a straight road at a constant speed of about 60 km / h, the left internal joint falls out of the box, I pulled out the entire axle shaft, I changed the protection at the end of the joint (of course, not the original one, just , in the car repair shop they chose some other ones that were similar to what I had). The security itself cannot be bought. When I put the joint with the old protection in the box, I did not feel any resistance while inserting it or removing it, after replacing the protection, I had to push quite vigorously, and when I was pulling it out, I couldn't walk a few times. I was hoping to find a problem. And yet it turned out not to be. The wrist fell back under the same circumstances as described earlier. I am asking for some advice

The gearboxes were identical - same model?
Did you forget to screw some engine / gearbox mount?

I chose the boxes personally according to the markings, so I'm 99% sure that the boxes are identical. And as for the whole exchange, the "mechanic" dealt with it, so I don't know, maybe he didn't tighten something. I'll check everything out in a moment. And if anyone has any ideas, please help. I don't know if it's important or not, but I know this car was after an accident, the front was crazy. Well, there were no such problems before, only after replacing the box.

It falls out because it is too short, or the chest on the pillows is pushed back. Perhaps someone applied a patent and it was omitted when exchanging.

With the drive shaft inserted in the hub and the gearbox, even if you jerked an elephant, it will not come out, because there is simply no place for it.

So compare the boxes if they are the same and see if you can tear the driveshaft out of the box.
If she did not jump on the old one, why does she jump on the new one?

It just pops up so gently that it does not pull on one driveshaft. I will gently push it back and it's ok

This kind of thing can only happen when:
    - Different gearbox,
    - the drive shaft is too short,
    - slack (great) in suspension,
    - Bad mounting of engine / gearbox feet.
    - crooked stringers.

Measure the distance between the gearbox and the wheel hub, compare with the length of the driveshaft. Maybe the mechanic replaced the driveshaft during the replacement? We can't think of anything else at a distance.

PS. Give the old and new gearbox markings, year too if you know. Maybe there were some production changes and other driveshafts were used.

It's hard to read the markings in the car now because from the top you can barely see only those on the left side when you remove the wheel.

PS, does anyone have a link to the page where the models of the x18xe engine box are written? Are there any differences between them, not only in terms of the gear ratio?

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a gearbox issue in a Vectra B 1.8 16v x18xe, where the left inner joint drops out during normal driving at 60 km/h after a gearbox replacement due to a broken differential satellite. The user suspects that the problem may stem from incorrect installation, such as loose engine/gearbox mounts or a mismatched driveshaft length. Responses suggest checking the gearbox markings for compatibility, ensuring proper installation of the driveshaft, and examining suspension slack or mounting issues. The user also seeks information on differences between x18xe engine gearboxes.
