I came across a "paradox" or not necessarily compatible devices.
It's about connecting the LG LAS655K Soundbar to a Sony TV and Polsat HD7000 set-top box.
Of course, the set-top box connected with the HDMI cable to the TV, the Soundbar connected with the optical cable to the TV and HDMI (for the visibility of the device interface).
Now the action begins, as there are 3 remotes, it would be good to use one. Unfortunately, it seems impossible because the remote control of the set-top box can be connected as a TV remote using HDMI ARC, connected to the TV Soundbar will respond to the volume adjustment, but the problem appears when turning off / on:
- With 3 devices turned on, using the set-top box remote, the issue of turning off the set-top box turns off the set-top box and automatically the TV, but the Soundbar remains ON.
- To turn off 3 devices with one button, use the TV remote control, power off automatically turns off the soundbar and the decoder, it is fine, but you need to move the second remote control
- On 3 devices turned off, using the TV power ON remote control turns on the TV and soundbar, unfortunately, if you want to turn on the set-top box, you need to use the set-top box remote.
- To turn on 3 devices with one button, use the decoder remote, power ON turns on the set-top box, which automatically turns on the TV, while the TV turns on the soundbar
The situation will be slightly different when I connect the Soundbar to TV HDMI ARC, as it should be, but the volume control in the decoder remote stops working
so also not as if you wanted to.
Connecting the soundbar with an optical cable to the set-top box will not do the trick, because it will give sound from the set-top box, while using, for example, Netflix on TV, there will be no sound
The whole situation seems to be problematic for 3 different devices, the LG manual dedicates the purchase of LG TV with the Simplink function, which will automatically integrate the TV with the Soundbar, then it will work on the principle of 2 devices (TV / Sounbar + Decoder).
We have three different manufacturers here, and connecting it the right way seems impossible. Seems if I missed something?
