    Hello.
I have a problem with connecting the LG sounbar to the Thomson tv, namely the problem is that there is no optical output on the tv. Attempting to connect via arc padel ... i.e. no sound on the speakers with the tv All I can do is enter the sounbar menu on tv.

Does anyone have any idea how to connect this to make it work?

According to the description, the TV has a coaxial digital audio output, the so-called "electric". Described on the TV as S / PDIF.
To connect them to the optical input on the soundbar, a colleague needs a converter, such as in the photo below. No hassle to buy.

Please pay attention to the description of the converter sockets -> Coax IN -> Opt OUT

    Just out of curiosity ...

    - the T-Link function on the TV has been enabled?
    - suitable HDMI cable? Meets HDMI1.4a standard or better?

So exactly all the necessary functions have been switched on and the new 1.4 cable is just right. Today I was also in a store where they had the same tv and lg soundbar and it turned out that he was also unable to pair it via hdmi arc. Not much of that, I called thomson and they said it must work. He advised me to download updates from thomson's website because there were already problems with connecting soundbars ... and how much can such a converter cost?

So it used to be ok and it worked?

Reset tv and try setup again.
Can the soundbar also be reset? - if so, do it.

There was a reset of both ..... still crap !!! I updated the software from thomson and nothing !!!! THOMson is shit with function no function !!!!! The only option is as a colleague wrote at the beginning, i.e. a converter with coaxial optics ....... i.e. loss of signal quality !!!!

What a loss again? - there will be no loss, it's just another form of audio signal transmission.

And with coaxial -> OPTICS !!!

It will be a loss because we are switching from digital to analog !!!! I just hope that the ear will not catch it, but the secon is that thanks to the arc you can turn both devices on and off with one remote ... after the conversion, this option will not be anymore! You will have to search for 3 pilots in the living room and sometimes one cannot find each other :P

The difference between coaxial and optics is the transmission method, audio recoding, etc.
It's not audiophile equipment - you won't hear any difference.

Some users have contacted Thomson support, which recommended software updates due to known issues with soundbar connectivity. The conversation highlights concerns about potential signal quality loss when converting from digital to analog and the inconvenience of managing multiple remotes instead of using a single remote for both devices.
