I have a problem that when the cool weather comes (autumn, spring), for example, after a minute of listening to the radio with the engine off, the message "battery charge very low" appears with the corresponding yellow battery icon. Despite this, the car always starts without any problem.
Sometimes the clock also resets. In the summer there is no problem.

I will immediately mention that all charging and resting voltages are OK. The battery is quite new (it is 3 years old and it is a high VARTA SILVER model dedicated to this model) and was sent back for testing with results like new. I measured the quiescent current after "sleeping the car" and it is negligible (if I remember several dozen mA).

There is not much to attach to. It is evident that lower temperatures (these are not frost, but only 6-10 degrees) have an effect here, a slight voltage drop on the battery (this is normal) and the computer interprets it as a failure.

Any ideas before he starts rummaging around in this electrician?

When I gave my VARTA to the producer to have her checked, I rode Ukrainian for one week (yellow). There was no effect. At VARTA, voltage drops slightly, say from 13.5 to 13.1 during the night and nothing more.

Well, then what does this show?

I think the answer is obvious.

You know, it doesn't just slide by itself!
13.5V at rest is not a damaged battery, the more that the same parameters and voltages are in the summer and there is no message.
If I find it, I will paste the battery test report, it works perfectly.

On the Internet I also found information about a similar problem and someone mentioned that the IBS (-) clamp turned out to be damaged ....

Since there is no problem on another battery, do you have an answer?

In such an E90 you do not need to code the battery capacity as it is in Audi?
    Maybe here is the problem

Yes, it was some time ago and on another occasion, but I remember that I was giving some information about the new battery to the mechanic and he was typing something into the computer.

I am still looking for what they write and basically, apart from the old battery, they write about the damaged IBS clamp and possibly the "badly adapted" new battery in the car's computer.
I am wondering about this reaction to a lower temperature, this may suggest some lack of contact etc.

    1. Electronics.
    2. Badly adapted.
    3. Faulty battery (you can check it - it has 13 V at rest but how much does it have after turning on the radio?).

With bosses and silver varticles recently there were problems such that customers did not start cars in the morning, and the passage was in the order of hundredths of Ampera. And the battery tester showed 100% technical efficiency.
Replacing the battery always solved the problem.

    Added after 1 [minutes]:

But if after a minute of listening to the radio such a message lights up, then I would drive up to someone else to undo the battery replacement.

The last Bosch, probably C5 model - I don't remember) installed in the Yaris from the new time turned the starter clearly slower than during the heyday of its predecessor. In cold weather, it is launched with a "soul on the shoulder". It lasted only 3 years and fell - strangely at the end of summer, not in the cold. For the last few days there was really a problem, it ended up like after a short tour he didn't spin the engine anymore. Currently, Warta is sitting - I will not check now what model, 4 or 5 years, so far without the intervention of a rectifier or starter cables. Even after many short trips, he doesn't get short of breath. We'll see how long it lasts.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a BMW E91 320D experiencing a "battery charge very low" message during cool weather, despite having a relatively new VARTA SILVER battery. The user notes that the car starts without issues, but the clock resets occasionally. Various responses suggest potential causes, including the need for battery coding, issues with the IBS (-) clamp, and the possibility of the battery being poorly adapted to the vehicle's computer. Some participants mention that similar problems have occurred with other batteries, indicating that even batteries tested as functional can fail under specific conditions. Recommendations include checking the battery's performance under load and considering the impact of cold temperatures on battery voltage.
