I did so. In the tray I have a TV and speakers. When I connect the HDMI cable, there is no sound in the speakers, only system sounds can be heard (turning up and down with the slider). When the cable is disconnected, the voice from the speakers can be heard.

I don't know exactly what the purpose of such connection is, but you can achieve the intended effect by connecting a laptop to a TV using HDMI and headphones to a jack on TV.

The TV has no output for headphones, the laptop is on the table by the bed so the optimal solution is to connect the headphones to the laptop.

the TV is SAMSUNG LE37A656A1F. It turned out that there is a headphone output on the side panel, but that still does not fully solve the problem because you need to constantly develop a headphone extension cord.

Wireless headphones - they solve the problem of cable winding and unwinding as much as possible. However, the inconvenience is also that the plug from the headphones after switching off the sound on the TV and to restart the sound normally it is necessary to pull the TV out of the furniture and pull the plug.
I think that this problem cannot be solved in the way I assumed at the beginning.

    Of course you can: /
That's what the default audio output in Windows is for.
This is a picture of the settings in the robot, so you can not see the TV, but at home I have a similar setup as a colleague; TV + speakers.

In the office I have 2 HDMI monitors (without sound) + built-in card + USB card led straight out to the desk with a USB cable.

It worked. It turned out to be very easy. PPM on the Master Volume speaker => sounds => playback, and there I have a TV and speakers. It was enough to right-turn off the sound on the TV and automatically turn on my speakers. arnoldziq led me on a good track, but thank you to everyone who tried to help me.
    I close the topic.

FAQ

TL;DR: Windows 7 on a Lenovo G580 uses a simple 3‑step fix: open Playback devices, disable HDMI audio, and your speakers/headphones take over. “It worked. It turned out to be very easy.” [Elektroda, tita98, post #16894101]

Why it matters: Many users ask how to mute TV speakers over HDMI while keeping headphone audio on the laptop.

Quick Facts

How do I use HDMI for the TV and laptop headphones at the same time on Windows 7?

Open Playback devices, disable the TV/HDMI audio, and the laptop speakers/headphones become active. Three steps: 1. Right‑click the volume icon > Sounds. 2. Open Playback tab. 3. Disable the TV device; speakers auto‑enable. [Elektroda, tita98, post #16894101]

Where exactly are the Playback device settings in Windows 7?

Right‑click the speaker icon in the taskbar, choose Sounds, then go to the Playback tab to manage devices. [Elektroda, tita98, post #16894101]

Why do my speakers go silent when I plug in HDMI?

Windows routes application audio to the detected HDMI device. You may still hear system beeps from speakers, which confuses users. [Elektroda, tita98, post #16818083]

Can I just plug headphones into the TV instead of the laptop?

Yes. If your TV has a headphone jack, connect headphones there to keep HDMI video and get audio locally at the TV. [Elektroda, RADU23, post #16829579]

Does the Samsung LE37A656A1F have a headphone output?

Yes. It has a side‑panel headphone jack, which can drive wired headphones without changing laptop settings. [Elektroda, tita98, post #16868337]

I don’t want cables—were wireless headphones suggested?

Yes. A user proposed wireless headphones (e.g., TDK TH‑WR700) to avoid running a long extension from the TV. [Elektroda, RADU23, post #16869752]

Do I need to change the default device for every app?

Not always. Some apps (e.g., Media Player Classic) let you pick an output device per app without changing Windows defaults. [Elektroda, arnoldziq, post #16889523]

How do I mute only the TV while keeping laptop audio on?

In Playback, right‑click the TV/HDMI device and choose Disable. Your speakers/headphones enable automatically and play sound. [Elektroda, tita98, post #16894101]

Windows shows only the TV as default—what should I switch to?

Set the built‑in audio (laptop speakers/headphone jack) as the default device in the Playback tab. “Set the appropriate device as Default.” [Elektroda, nici, post #16815117]

What does “Default audio device” mean in Windows 7?

It’s the system output used by most apps unless you choose another device inside an app. Set it in Playback settings. [Elektroda, arnoldziq, post #16889523]

Will this method work on a Lenovo G580 with Windows 7?

Yes. The reported case used a Lenovo G580 on Windows 7 and achieved headphone audio while HDMI fed the TV. [Elektroda, tita98, post #16815093]

I set speakers as default, but only system sounds play—what’s happening?

Apps may still target HDMI. Disable the TV device in Playback or reselect speakers as the default to force routing. [Elektroda, tita98, post #16818083]

Is the change reversible if I want TV sound again?

Yes. Re‑enable the TV/HDMI device in Playback. The TV becomes active again, and speakers mute for app audio. [Elektroda, tita98, post #16894101]
