Hello again, I have a problem with my channel, which is the astra h 1.7 cdti from 2005.I replaced the front pads, put everything together and zonk, the abs burns and the brake pedal slowly falls into the floor when pressed, the system checked without air in the fluid full like the car is off The pedal holds the pedal in one position and does not fall when I fire it. Nothing leaks, pleats, help .. Regards

Read ABS error codes. You probably damaged the sensor cable when replacing the pads.

for 100% the cables are ok because I checked, the liquid does not drip anywhere, I had a similar problem with zafira a, from 2001, but I drove about 2 km and the abs light went out (I was turning the wheels on the lift, apparently the abs got lost or something like that)

This pedal goes all the way down when you hold it?
When retracting the pistons under the new pads, the excess fluid was vented through the vent or forced in by the pump? If the latter, I bet that the pump seals are damaged.
We will not deduce anything from ABS until the error is read.
And decide whether you are "he" or "she" because you write yes and yes.

Did you only change the pads or the fluid too? Or did you do anything else with the brakes?

Ok, when pressed, the pedal does not hold and it drops gently down to the floor, the brake is braking poorly, I am there ,,, I only replaced the fluid blocks, I did not move, on the turned off engine, the pedal after pressing the brake stays in one place does not fall

How did you sand the edges of the blocks before installing them?

So what, what edges. I vented the system on the principle, I had a little dot4 fluid, when I refilled (help from the car owner), the venting was LP, PP, LT, PT, on the off engine. km (I turned the wheels at a standstill, the mechanic said that the abs got lost) now the brakes are razor, the car is standing on end

As the discs already have wounds, the new blocks need to be slightly grinded on the edges of the linings so that they adhere to the disc on the entire plane and brake with full effectiveness from the very beginning.

A colleague replaced the discs a month ago, also in perfect condition without rims, now he has just bought pads (cash is known), as for the abs, I also do not know the term that the abs is lost, but okay, let me have zafira and I had the same thing that after replacing the abs pads it was on for 2km and the light went out. I am closing the topic, thanks for your interest and for help, I am giving my solution.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a 2005 OPEL Astra H 1.7 CDTI experiencing an ABS light activation and a falling brake pedal issue after replacing the front brake pads. The user reports that the brake pedal drops slowly to the floor when pressed, although it holds when the engine is off, and there are no visible leaks. Responses suggest checking ABS error codes, inspecting sensor cables, and considering potential damage to the brake pump seals. The user confirms that the brake fluid was replaced and the system was bled properly. There are mentions of similar experiences with a Zafira model, where the ABS light turned off after driving a short distance. The discussion concludes with the user indicating that the brakes are now functioning effectively after addressing the issues.
