Hello, My name is Marcin and I am new to the forum. For 2 days I have had the Orange Fiber 300 Mb / s service, everything works fine, but I am interested in this topic regarding the optical transmission and reception power.

    My results are 1 / -19 (dBm)

I looked around in the subject and read that Terminal ONT in GPON technology, it should transmit the signal on average within +0.5 dBm / +5 dBm and -27 dBm / -8 dBm receiving. Unfortunately, I did not find detailed information about Funbox 3.0, what is the maximum signal sensitivity limit. I suspect Over -30 (dBm).

In the contract, I should not disconnect the FB3.0 from the power supply for the next 10 days in order to optimize the signal. I am curious if these values will change.

Are my parameters correct? and can they be better?

    best regards :)

If the speeds are ok, you have nothing to worry about ;)
As you provide, the parameters are within those you provided for the ONT terminal, probably for FB 3.0 it is similar, after all, the technology is the same ...

I think so too :) I compared it to the WiFi Analyzer and the signal quality "very good" should not exceed -30 dBm is also oki, considering that the download and upload speeds exceed those offered by ISP. It's just a pity that I can't manually change the MTU to the maximum frame. In my case it is 1500 and FB3.0 is set to 1540.

Before I close the topic, I will give a chance to others who are familiar with the topic :)
Thank you very much for your answer.

It just has nothing to do with it :)

Is it about LAN? It misses the point, as the sizes of the frames vary, the effect may be counterproductive. In fact, the speed gain will be small anyway, I prefer to leave the default MTU, because you never know what device I will connect to the network. For more switch-server bandwidth, I have the trunking port set, here is the bigger difference.
