    Hello!
I have a problem in the Vw Polo 1.4 TDI car does not give me electricity for glow plugs and the glow plugs are ok. I came to the relay 103 which transmits the current to them, after removing this relay I connected the cable for a short time and then there is electricity by the candles. The first thought is that the relay is triggered I took a good change from another car (also of course 103) but the same current does not give further. Then I came to the conclusion that the ground with this relay is not fed the cable from the screw, I turned the ignition and the current has already appeared on the candles but there is the problem that it is there all the time even after starting the engine. Now my question is what could it be? Does this mass go from any sensor? Or did I do something wrong?

Hello. The relay is still connected with a temperature sensor. If it is damaged, it will not turn on the glow plugs.

And this sensor is the same as in 1.9 tdi (namely it is from the coolant temperature sensor too)?

And which year do you have this Polówka?

103 is probably just a relay and the weight is given by the controller. Such a black double-width box like relays.

    The year is 2000
And where to look for this driver is it next to these relays or somewhere under the hood?
I will add that the coolant sensor (nwm is also from candles because I did not replace it, I do not even drive it) was replaced with a new one this summer.
And on a warm engine, it will blow the candle light for at least 1 sec?
Because I will add that I did everything on a warm engine.

The relay is controlled by the engine controller itself, giving the weight to the relay coil. The diagnostics will tell you the truth, firstly see what temperature the controller "sees", secondly check the connection continuity, controller-> relay.

I connected to the computer and says that there is a mass to the relay, which is what I know. Maybe I will dry out the whole controller and take it to the electronics?

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around an electrical issue in a VW Polo 1.4 TDI, specifically concerning the glow plugs and relay 103. The user reports that the glow plugs are functional but are not receiving power, leading to troubleshooting the relay and its connections. It is suggested that the relay is controlled by the engine controller, which may not be providing the necessary ground signal. The coolant temperature sensor's condition is also questioned, as it can affect the relay's operation. The user has replaced the coolant sensor recently but is still experiencing issues. Further diagnostics are recommended to check the controller's readings and the continuity of connections between the controller and the relay.
