    Hello,

In my Octavi 1.0 TDi 74 KW 2006. passing lights dimmed more and more often.
Until they went out completely during Christmas Eve family visits away from home. To somehow be able to slowly come back I took out the light switch on the left side of the steering wheel and shorted pins 30 and 56 responsible for +12 V and high beam. The lights worked. This is how both high beam and low beam work. The problem is that the jumper I made on the switch started to heat up. After measuring the resistance, the meter showed a short circuit. After dismantling the upholstery to get to the relays I checked the status of the relays. None is visibly damaged. It is interesting that when shorting the pins in the switch, the relay sound is nowhere to be heard. As if the 12V from the connector cube fed the lights bypassing the relay. The switch was dismantled and one of the contacts was smoked and some plastic was melted. Today I am receiving a new switch, but I will not connect it until it locates the relay error. The problem is that I don't know exactly which relay is responsible for the lights, because none reacts to switching on. For information I will add that the rest of the fog or parking light relays work normally.

    Drawing with cubes pins.

Has anyone had this case and knows what could be the reason?
Alternatively, I would ask for some relay location schemes.

The shift handlebar has to be replaced and that's it.

At the beginning I was looking there, because these fears appeared during the change of lights or when bouncing the indicator.
I will entrust the repair to a professional because I have heard that it is not a simple assembly.
If you can, write to me why this is happening. From pure curiosity.

That's why it broke. Everything wears out sometime, especially the electrical contacts. Any more questions?

Thank you for your help, but a bit malicious this answer.
Does the throttle contain power bulbs without a relay?

Added after 4 [hours] 15 [minutes]:

Control handle replaced. Still resistance between pins 30 and 56 below 1 Ohm. The relay sound is still not heard.
The switch will be until tomorrow.

Probably, after replacing the switch, the lights will work properly until it burns again.

Anyone else guess what could be the reason? I have no ideas anymore.

    Added after 1 [minutes]:

I will add that there is no short circuit between the pins if I pull out both H7 bulbs from the headlights.
