I have a laptop Acer F5-573G-57AS i5 7gen low voltage, NVidia 940MX, 8GB of RAM. In this model it is possible to add an M.2 SSD because it is not included in the factory, there is also a free ram slot. I wanted to buy such a drive, I got information on the Acer Hotline that the interface is PCI Express, but by looking at the tutorials on YT, in one video the guy puts in this M.2 SSD slot on SATA. I also know that it is definitely a 2280 disk size. Hence my question, if the interface is M.2 PCIe, can I use M.2 SATA in it and will M.2 SATA work? I am asking for help, or when choosing a specific model, I do not know it so much and I wanted to relieve the equipment, especially at Autocad. I upload a picture of what the slot looks like in my model, I turned it up to take a picture.

On forums in various places you can find info that (at least some models) support M.2 NVMe drives.

There is probably no reason not to trust too much the information received from the manufacturer:

In general, it is worth buying an NVMe disk with the option of a possible return, if only SATA was actually supported.

No, if the interface is PCIe, then the SATA disk will not work. And if it's a SATA interface, then the PCIe disk will not work. The M.2 slot can also support PCIe and SATA simultaneously.

That's right There is information that NVMe works, but there was also information that it is visible in the bios but not in windows or vice versa. It is hard to get a clear answer. I personally use SATA, I have not tried with others. And the socket looks like this (Acer F15-573G).

Hello again. I have to deny what I wrote earlier. I installed a Samsung SSD SSD with PM961 MZVLW256HEHP, i.e. PCI Express Gen3 x4, NVMe in my ace F15 F5-573G-52M7. And it works. Bios and the system see him, I put the system on him. I will check HDTune speeds today.

I checked the speed, as much as I can, using HDtune and in reading SSD it reaches 1GB / s. This is much less than the manufacturer's declaration: 2.8 as I'm not mistaken. But it's still much better than HDD, which has a score of 70 MB / s. The computer starts up in 20 seconds and runs silently. :)
